Once it gets down to 0 stars the next question would be if there's a way to skip the Bowser stages. Is it somehow possible to introduce memory corruption into the level data to e.g. make the game think the bowser 1 entry point is really the bowser 3 one or that you have jkeys you didn't collect?

We all wish. If some enormous glitch like that was known, the runs would use it already. We are all allowed to keep looking, and hopeing though.

I tested that ages ago, there's no way to even get out of the room using it.

In order to bypass DDD its likely that you'll need to reach teleport speeds simalar to the stuff seen in BoB. I've tested all the known BLJ locations in the basement quite some time ago and the outlook seems bleak at time of writing. Beating the game with zero stars would be equal to achivement of 16 to 1 stars.

has anyone tried hacking marios location to be behind the DDD entrance, to chack if you can even zone in to bowser 2? or tested how thick DDD's entrance area is?

Yeah, it's been proven many times that with enough speed, you'll go right through. A 0 star run is absolutely possible with a good enough BLJ.

I think a possible BLJ location may be that slope leading to the two pillars. I know this may sound sound noob but, can toads tool be used to find out BLJ spots?

Can you please enumerate the known BLJ spots in the basement? I think you said before there were 8 or so but I've never seen a conclusive list. That HMC BLJ looks kinda cool.. but Rikku doesnt show the actual spot.. or was that just testing of BLJ speed? If you crank it up high enough cant you just go through the wall and not need the door? Also did anyone check the black room of death behind the basement key door for a BLJ spot? The stairs should be able to get you in there and maybe there is an invisible wall there to get lucky.

http://www.bluetoaster.net/tasvideos/sm64faq.html Feel free to correct me on IRC (or better yet if you are an editor, add it to the wiki.)

Why on earth must you repeat yourself on a forum? I mean c'mon, if someone knows the answer and reads it, they will answer. If noone answers, noone knows the answer. You can bet your ass that someones tried it and failed though.

I didnt mean behind the door, I meant slightly inside the door. My theory is that it would partially copy some of the data and load the rest and cause you to go though the door.

I have a theory, too: if you glitch Pokemon Red in a certain way, it'll copy the game ending data and overwrite the rest, thus letting you finish the game in three minutes.

That's not how loading points work. There is nothing to load if you don't have the upstairs key. If there is a magical Reverse Bottle Adventure for SM64, then maybe you could just give yourself the key and use the door, but then you could just walk up to the door the same as BLJ through it... Same reason there is no canon in the cement thing in level 1 before talking to the bob-ombs, and no vashic cap under the moat before it's been emptied. Sorry. Too bad that by the time you get to WDW as fast as possible, you've already passed the hurdle keeping this a bowser-only run: doors needig keys :/
