Just wondering if there has been any progress done on this as of late. Since no one has posted since last year. :3

Last I heard, I found faster ways to climb the ropes, and this motivated Nibelung to start working on it again.

Cool. I thought it looked good before. It'll look much better now. ^^

Just one sentence: Doorstop Dash is one of the top 5 stages that i REALLY hate TAS. I do not give up (yet) of this TAS. I just sit in front of the computer, check my mails, look to my icon of the emulator and think "doordtop dash". Half of my motivation gone XD But i'm very sure that when i finish this stage i'll advance faster.
Not more working on: DKC3 105% < Needs modified Nitsuja Snes9x+9, with reset recording.

I'm sure you'll kick that level's ass no matter what it takes. The rest should be a breeze afterward, right? :3

I hope this doesn't make you pull hair... The first half of the vid is looking off screen to make the barrels go through the krocs that hold the DK coins. The rest of the movie is fluff stuff. Could definitely save time in collecting the DK coins. Anyways, I hope you can incorporate in this run (even if a redo is needed).

I hope you can get motivation again. This is one of the videos I've really wanted to see.

I got word from Nibelung that he's not doing it anymore. Myself and/or Tompa (more emphasis on or) may pick this up way down the road if no one else has done so.

I would love to see this. It's definitely my favorite DKC game. Good luck if you do!

As the physics in DKC3 aren't the same as DKC, I prefer not starting with this before DKC is done. I have yet not tried to TAS DKC3 or anything like that, so I'm not sure that I'm even going to challenge it =P. We'll see... we'll see...

Stuff about the WATER code Woah, my bad, I got Bear Coins and Bonus Coins mixed up. I must be tired. By the way, does anyone actually have an official list of the Bear Coin locations?

Hey, I've worked on this the past week or so, and here's what I've come up with. This is definitely a harder game to TAS than others, but I have a good feeling about it. Anyway, if anyone can take a look, spot mistakes, note improvements, anything, that would be great. (I think this is around 20 seconds faster than what Nibelung had; this number is merely for reference, I'm not trying to compete with him or anything; on the contrary, his WIP has helped mine immeasurably already). EDIT: Uh, forgot to mention that this is the first six levels (Lake Orangatanga)

Looks pretty smooth. I haven't compared it to Nibelung's last WIP, but I'm glad that someone's finally working on this game again.

Looks pretty good :). One day I'll try to TAS it myself to see if I can find anything. There's one trick which you might use in this run... But it's still a secret between me and Arne (As we use it in our DKC 101% run.). But I don't know if it works in DKC3, or if it will be possible to use it. So I won't mention it (Yet at least, lol.) Have you perhaps got MSN or AIM or something like that?

Yay! Someone is doing this! I hope you can make some more progress. I'd watch the WIP, but I have no clue how to work that kind of file.

Try this as a starting point EDIT: I'm getting a massive desync even before the name entry screen.

I was able to watch it! I had some troubles though. I hadn't downloaded the proper thing, so I was watching all sorts of wierd stuff at the first banana bird. I looked around and found what I had to download I will say that I loved every second of it. I especially found collect 15 bananas to be hilarious. The one thing I noticed though is that the characters move way slower in this game compared to DKC and DKQ. Especially Enguard. Was this something to do with the movie? or did they just slow the characters down For DKDT? (may sound like a dumb question) :P

mmbossman, did you use the modified SNES9X with reset recording? I suppose I'd better put it in my signature, as Nibelung did. And yes, Pekopon, it's probably the slowest DKC game in most regards (although vertical ascension while jumping up ropes is pretty fast).

The horizontal rope movement is fast in levels where the rope is on a pulley. I'm sure you mean vertical rope ascension, which is really fast, especially in those rock bluff stages. Also yes the physics are slowed down somewhat, and there's even now more momentum and such. And Enguarde is just as fast as in DKC2.

Hey yeah! that's the thing I had to download to view the file. I myself didn't hear any music off track. (I think that's what desync is. Sounds that don't match where it should be in the video?)

Well, that's a type of desync I guess. Desyncing in this case is the player input doesn't match what's happening in the game, causing it to look like the player loves walking into walls, dying, and doing pointless things.

Ah, nope, I was just using the normal v10. I'll take a look at it with the proper emulator when I get home. And a slight signature modification would be a good idea;)

Using some knowledge imparted unto me by Comicalflop, this new Lake Orangatanga WIP is 190 frames faster. Improvements come from more optimized rolling (the double roll is pretty much useless unless I have a good momentum going, so I cut a lot of that out).
