I second Phantasy Star... mostly because it's the only SMS game I've ever heard of.

Are there tools for Master System now? Can we seriously run these? Anyway.. ZILLION! Zillion Zillion Zillion! It's the best game on SMS. Edit: Oh wow, I just checked the other SMS toic and I posted almost that exact sentence, capitals included, more than 9 months ago. I guess I don't change that much.

Golvellius and Golden Axe Warrior, the 2 sms zelda-like. but there is already a sms wishlist topic around. thanks for creating a sms section though. I guess it includes gamegear games too, since a lot are equivalent.

Vampire: Master of Darkness wouldn't to be in the same series as Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption and Bloodlines, would it? ;3

It predates the Vampire RPG (first edition in 1991) by a lot I'm pretty sure.

Castle of Illusion, like the Genesis game of the same name, but more original. :)

To add to that, Mickey Mouse: Land of Illusion is a nice game with many different themed levels. Possibilities are there for a no star run or a 100% all star run.

I would love to see some crazy moves in Space Harrier, as I recall the hit detection was a little dodgy and I could see this being abused for hilarious results.

I strongly doubt it'd make a good TAS, but I do wonder how long it'll be before someone submits a run of the Master System BIOS, just for the sake of novelty.

For me personally, Ace of Aces would be cool to see, because I know the game quite well (from the C64 era). It would not be the most entertaining video, but technically challenging and interesting. And short.

I'll second Land of Illusion, Zillion, Golvellius, Wonder Boy 3 and Golden Axe Warrior. Any of these would make a great run with enough effort put into it.

So I know that basically all the mastersystem games got ported to the gamegear, but are there any TAS-worthy games that were developed specifically for that color screened, battery sucking brick we all knew and loved?

Sonic Chaos and Sonic Triple Trouble come to mind.

Sonic Chaos has an SMS version. Crystal Warriors is a GG exclusive, although I don't know if it would be any good to TAS, probably not.

Ah, does it? I suppose I should have checked my archive first before mentioning names, though I could swear it was a Game Gear exclusive as well.

Because game gear and master system were almost entirely intercompatible, in many cases the only difference between the SMS and GG versions of a game were cartridge size and shape. Certain games made use of Game Gear's extended palette, though. For these it would be best to use the GG version of the ROM. (I don't have a list handy, however.)
