I kinda wanted to give this to SMW small-only, but come on, four games at once!
Kirby said so, so it must be true. ( >'.')>

Hmm… 100% Super Metroid. I considered 4-p NoES and the quadrun, but I decided that they were only incremental progress from two/three-player runs and the dualrun respectively. Typing text and making amazing animations with mere input display, on the other hand, is really something nearly none of us fathomed seeing at then current level of tool-assisted movie history.

Small Only. It combined amazing quality which made the idea look good and not just bleh, and was the single most entertaining TAS this year.

Voted for JXQs Super Metroid run, for the same reason moozooh stated.

I also voted for the quad run, for the amazing coordination of it. And, it was most innovative.

I've voted for the 4 player run of Elm Street, the quad really was't anything new since we already have the duo run of Mega X1/X2, the result of the 4 player was much more pleasing to watch since its like watching a whole load of army ants terrorising a small neighbourhood :-D

What in the world am I even doing on this list? And someone even voted for me?... Even weirder. Anyway, even though it nearly gave me a seizure, the quad run gets my vote. Although AKA makes somewhat of a good point, I believe it is indeed different enough, with enough new techniques, to be considered truly innovative.

Super Mario Kart. The strategies used in that run were outstanding.

This. JXQ singlehandedly invented a whole new form of entertainment which can be added to runs.

Small only!
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

If not focusing on the TAS only, then it would be the input animation of JXQ's Super Metroid TAS. This was a great idea never done before.

I voted for Super Metroid. JXQ provided entertainment during the "downtime" of the run. Not a second in the movie without entertainment. (Don't quote me on that.) I think this could be exciting during any TAS with downtime (As long is it isn't overused. JXQ's was used very entertainingly and appropriately.) Quad Run was a close second. A progression from two games done at once. I would not be as excited if a bunch of multi-game speedruns were submitted to the site, however. It is novelty for now.

I voted small-only SMW because of all the outside-of-the-box thinking that went in to coming up with strategies for stars not meant to be done without a cape/yoshi. I might have voted for the 100% metroid if I had remembered the great use ofinput display before clicking, but what's done is done. Edit: also honorable mention goes to the RBA Ocarina of Time test run.
