..by which I mean, counting ports and gameplay-near-identical remakes, but not counting identical-except-language releases. And excluding Street Fighter II and Guilty Gear XX. For example, Final Fantasy 4 has like 8 versions: SNES (FF2), SFC (FF4), SFC (FF4 easy), PSX, WSC, Cellphones, GBA, DS. Metroid 1 has 10 my by count, and Super Mario Bros has 16 (edit: I forgot about NES combo carts). I think my highest single game count is only 4, which I have multiple times.. Fantasy Zone (NES, PS2, SMS, TG16). Contra (NES, DS (Contra 4), PC, DS (Konami collection)). I have a lot of 3s, but I don't think I have any 5s.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

I own Zelda - Ocarina of Time three times, thanks to the two freebie gamecube versions. As for games I own twice: The 3 US games from Super Mario Allstars, the GBC/NES Dragon Warrior games, and NES Metroid through Zero Mission and Prime. Also GBA/SNES Final Fantasy 4.

Let's see... Mortal Kombat: Super Nintendo Genesis Game Gear Sega CD Mortal Kombat II: Genesis 32X Saturn Super Nintendo I also used to have an arcade board for the first Mortal Kombat, but I never actually had a cabinet to put it in, or even bothered to hook it up to see if it was in working condition. I have no idea where it is now. ... I feel dirty having spent that much money on such a mediocre series. :/

My entire gaming collection is tied at 1. Unless you count the time I bought a second copy of Civ3 because it came bundled with the expansion packs and was cheaper than buying them separately.

and to think I was pissed because I ended up with 2 copies of haflife thanks to the orange box. Not the same thing, but something funny was that I had rented smashbros. for the N64 about 5 times before I finally bought it. I feel l like I paid for it twice.

I suppose also I "own" HL2 twice because of the orange box. OTOH, since I bought the orange box through Steam, it didn't even download HL2 because it was already installed in my system, so I have only had one single copy of it, technically speaking. Just paid for that copy "twice".

I own Ocarina of time 3 times Import gold cartridge OoT/MQ disk on Gc Collecters edition on Gc I did used to have the v1.2 European cartridge so I don't know if that counts and I could technically own another copy if I was to download the Wii version. Edit: I think Acryte owns a lot of copies of the game, not exactly sure how many but he likes to own several versions of the game so he multiple save slots.

I actually own Ocarina of time four times D: N64 original cartridge OoT/MQ disk for GC 2x Collectors edition (this is because they somehow delivered me two of these, when I paid for one :) ) Also I have: HL1 2x (no idea why) Counter-strike x3 (two through HL1, and one from CS anthology) Starcraft 3x (lost first CD-key, second package didn't have any CD-key, and we didn't bother to report it to the store, and then a third one to actually play) WoW 2x (both me and my brother played) Baldur's Gate 2x (first set of CDs were scratched)

If pirate stuff counts, I own all the episodes of the games I like...
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

Well, if we're counting multiple versions of the same cart on a platform, I can add OoT (grey 1.1, gold 1.0, OoT/MQ, collector's disc) and SMB (standalone, SMB/DH, SMB/DH/WCTM, SMAS, Wii VC) to the list.

Does SMB have 17, since you can unlock a copy of it in Animal Crossing?

I have three copies of Super Mario Bros: SMB/Duck Hunt/Track & Field cart Animal Crossing Virtual Console I do own 2 copies of some games, but mostly do to stuff like the MMX Collection, Zelda Collector's Disc, or siblings who think that buying VC copies of games we already own is a smart idea.

I'm pretty sure that would fall under the GGX/SFII stipulation. Although, I do own Super Street Fighter II four times (Genesis, SNES, PSX, GBA), which is probably worth counting because it is one specific version, as opposed to retool add-on nonsense (though I do own each of those, as well >.>). Under that stipulation, I don't add SFAC to the list, or it would be the only game I own on five consoles.

I own Sonic 1 and 2 twice thanks to Sonic Mega Collection. I have Golden Axe for Genesis and Virtual Console. I own LttP twice if you count the GBA version. I have two copies of Metroid Prime because one was free. I may have more Sonic games twice or maybe thrice if you count unlocking them in Sonic Adventure.

I have 3 of the halo 1 cds, and I never even paid for it once. Used to host small lans for it, and people managed to leave copies behind!

I have Impossible Creatures 1 1/2 times, because one of the 2 disks broke so I had to buy it again.

I had two "Metroid: Zero Mission"s, one japanee and one not-japanese. Does that count as four, since the original Metroid is unlockable (at least in the not-jap version)? I also once had both the Wii and Gamecube versions of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I have since sold the Wii version and can't use the GameCube one anymore since I also sold my PAL Wii and got an NTSC machine instead. Blerkh.

Almost undoubtedly it would be Diablo II for me. * Original Diablo II European release * Lord of Destruction + Diablo II double pack * Original Diablo II American release (don't ask) * one of those 'platinum edition'-style releases, European Yay.
