hello, i made some tas-runs but now ive got a prob with castlevania64. the mupen file is near 50mins and i cannot convert it to avi. h264 worked for me but in castlevania i got the error message: "VCR Warning - unknown country code , using 60fps for video". then i tried divx, xvid and every codex else but its always an instant emulator shutdown or this error message: "video codec failure! a call to addvideoframe() (avistreamwrite) failed. perhaps you ran out of memory"? my system is: E6600,2gb ram,7900gs please dont tell me the run was a waste of time i really wanna send my friends the avi file xd thx for help.

I'm very sure a movie of 50 minutes can be made to .avi for castlevania... speedruns.net has two such movies. While I may not readily know the solution to your problem, one solution would be to upload the movie here and one of the site's talented encoders might make an .avi for you. The run was not a waste of time, and maybe you could share some of the other TAS runs you have done. The VCR warning seems to indicate maybe that you're using an E! ROM, that runs at 50 FPS, and you're codec may be only encoding for NTSC 60 FPS ROMs?

Camtasia is not a solution. But in your case, it might work.

I wouldn't use a desktop recorder to make an avi. The quality is much too bad.

On my computer all codes except ffdshow have given me an error message. You may want to try that one out.

ffdshow has the "VCR Warning - unknown country code , using 60fps for video" error. which settings do u use in ffdshow? h264/x264 works for any other game, but not for c64<<
