Awesome! And you're getting all the Chaos Emeralds too! One question though, are you sure you couldn't enter the Ring at the end of Sunset Hill Zone Act 2 a little less awkwardly?
Why, oh, why do I even <i>try</i> to understand my own species?

I thought it looked amazing but I'm kind of wondering why you seemed to slow down in the one marble garden act to collect over a hundred rings...

Well I did it that way because I personally thought it made him look like he was moving too fast... oh well...

It actually saved time to go that way then depend on the spring to shoot me up, I can't remember how many frames. If you mean the little room I go into, I needed the flame shield.

What I meant was, couldn't you enter the Ring a little earlier?

Well it doesn't much matter, the score screen still needs to come along and tally up, so, it doesn't hurt to waste those frames looking silly really.

You know, there's a shortcut in the 5th special stage. The GMV (with savestate) Far from optimized, but you get the point, right? I'm pretty sure you can take the shorter-cut, too, but I couldn't figure out how to do it.

Thanks alot for that, it took a bit of messing about but I managed to slip in behind it without the blocks turning solid

Well, I'm back. got bored this weekend and decided to run through this game from the beginning. I've made LOTS of improvements over my first run. over a minute saved in Marble zone alone. New Times: Sunset Hill Act 1: 27:26 Sunset Hill Act 2: 25:50 Sunset Hill Act 3: 27:99 Dark Fortress Act 1: 42:90 Dark Fortress Act 2: 46:59 Dark Fortress Act 3: 31:00 City Outskirts Act 1: 25:10 That's all I have so far, the special stages are a LOT better too, especially the 5th one, thanks to billybobfred :D The GMV

As always, I enjoyed it. My biggest gripe was all the above the level stuff, which doesn't show off the levels. BUT I do realize that it is a TAS, and that stuff is expected ;P Whenever this hack is completed, two runs (at least) are gonna be required, an above the level and a "normal route" run... not to mention Shadow and that other thing that I can't remember his name.

If you watch my current Mighty WIP, It has the Special Stages highly optimized. I'll compare them side-by-side when I get home, but from what I was watching, my Mighty got to the second Emerald (the alternate route) before your Sonic got to the first in the first special stage. Certainly surprising how you got to the top of the level on Dark Fortress 2 with Sonic. I must admit, I lol'd :)

yeah, I've already spotted several improvements that can be made to the run, but the more progress videos I see for v4.0 the less that I want to work on this one D= anyway, I managed to manipulate the glitch in misty maze 3 giving me a complete time of 16 secs :O Link.

Okay. Interesting. I grabbed that, and I ended up with the Recording that he takes 31 seconds on.

I'm afraid that link is not to the correct recording. Just downloaded it via a fresh cache on an entirely different machine, still takes 31 seconds. May I suggest you re-upload it? Also, will you be going back to re-do your special stage runs? I'm willing to give you my Mighty WIP so you can splice it's input into yours, if it'll run smoothly, or at least watch it frame-for-frame to replicate it.

Your newest version desyncs for me as sonn as you turn super. Tried to disable Left+Right, but made no difference. Also isn't there some kind of shortcut in the last Special Stage? Like this? Sorry that's just me playing in real time, but wouldn't that route be faster?

try this http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1518898506/Sonic%201%20Megamix%20v3%20-%20New%20Run%20%5BSonic%5D.gmv and about the special stages, I don't know anything about splicing, and how to do it without desyncing, you'd have to walk me through that, I'm all for it. have you all been keeping up with the teaser videos that were released? they've added so much T_T I want v4.0 NAO

That worked. and LOL at managing that one! As for splicing and such, hit me up again on msn sometime, we'll discuss it.

Are you watching the recordings with a blank SRM file?

either download the blank SRM in the first post, or delete your srm before watching, the recording will set the right settings at the beginning of the movie. Starry night is done, though I'm not sure I chose the most optimal route for Act 2 (time was 52 something, I didn't bother to check the times with anybody else's run =X), I'll finish up metallic madness and post the recording later tonight or tomorrow

haha yeah no kidding, I saw the vast improvement after watching my old run again. I still see many improvements that can be made to this one as well, but I'm way too lazy to go back and fix it >_<

You were right, Fano, the second act could be much improved and I've done it, I'll get around to wrapping up act 3 then try and splice the thing together again just as you asked.
Act Fano Khat
1	32.79	31.39
2	59.80	47.64
3	30.32	??.??
