Oh. I don't remember that. Sorry. Like I said though, Drill Dozer is too hard for me. I'm just looking for tricks. I recently discovered how to kill the mecha crab in two hits. Can you get as far as the barrel mini-game in Mario and Luigi? That's a mini game I really want to TAS for fun.

Lucky for you, my VBA folder was backed up to a second hard drive right before my system32 crapped out. After some trouble on my part, I was able to track down the test run and post it on microstorage. Note that the run uses very few savestates, never employs frame advance, and had not much planning involved. Cardboard found that you can still damage bosses when they're in their coffin, which is a tactic I did not use. Aside from that, the 2x battery can probably be skipped and you don't have to care so much about not being seen as much as I bothered to do. A good run would probably beat 2:2x e: Also note that Bisqwit is allowing the modded version of the ROM for Boktai. It allows us to alter the solar input levels, thereby circumventing the problem of needing an actual solar sensor. My ROM was titled "Boktai - The Sun is in Your Hands (E) (M5) (Cracked).gba", but it should work with a lot of different ROMs that employ the same workaround.

Yeah... Scurge:Hive would be cool. People should stop wasting time with Lady Sia or Spider Man 3 and do it. And there is that nice glithed wall where you can warp around and glitch the thing up. It's halfway into the game, but it still has potential.

Well what are you working on right now? Maybe you should do it if you want it so bad. That's the approach I took with Kirby's Dream Land 3 (though the desyncs made me quit half way into the game) People TAS the games they're interested in. Not what other people ask for.

You have to understand that Scurge requires a lot of planning. A lot. More than you would think for an action game. That, and the game kind of drags on if you've played it for a while. It's just not meant for "free time" work like most other games are.

By "drags on" do you mean it's not fun after a while? Cause I know what you mean there. Certain games become more of a chore to play than something to play to have fun. (Horribly structured sentence. I'm not good at that.)

I guess Scurge could get a bit boring to watch due to the limited variety in actions (on the other hand there's pretty fast movement, no idea how it will turn out in practice) though it would make for a good route planning challenge with the keycards you can get in any order and the save stations you have to visit regularly.

I still have my... firstorsecond dungeon broken WIP around. However working on this started to suck as you disappeared from IRC hinthint.

To me, Scurge:Hive (just like Boktai) is a great game... to WATCH. I can't think of anything as irritant as isometric perspective. Here is the glitch I mentioned before(I didn't finish this game... a friend of mine did it and I watched... thankfully he still had the savestate). You can warp to a few places when you're offscreen, but I guess the warps have exact coordinates (X, Y [and Z?]) and I don't have the patience for searching for those things. That's moozooh's hobby.

Rayman Advance is a straight port of Rayman 1 AFAIK, a game I'd really like to see beaten. Oh how I hated that music world... The watchability might suffer from the need to open all the cages which would probably kill some shortcuts that might otherwise exist.

Are there any known wacky tricks that might make Golden Sun or its sequel A) Beatable in an acceptable amount of time, and B) Entertaining to watch during that time? I loved both GS games, and I'd love to see a speedrun of them sometime, but if there aren't any crazy glitches or workarounds known then the resulting run would probably be pretty slow-paced. :(

The only thing you can do to make Golden Sun faster and more entertaining is to manipulate good random encounters and use ample amounts of strong djinn for excessive damage. Otherwise, aside from good tactical use of stat boosts and magic arrangements, you're pretty much boned. Is there a current "fast" completion time for GS? If so, how outrageous can it be? The game isn't that slow if you turbo through dungeons and conversations optimally.

I've asked about Golden Sun runs before, and the general consensus is that it's fun to play, but not fun to watch. There probably won't be any Golden Sun runs unless something big is discovered.

So I am probably behind on the times or missing something... But does this video of 2 player 'Zelda: Four Swords', mean that TAS's of multiplayer GBA games using a link cable are possible now? Because if that is the case a 4 player run of Four Swords would be something I would very much like to see.

VBALink is derived from VBA, which has recording capabilities, but not RErecording capabilities. So no, not possible yet. Unless you do it right the first time. ^^;;

Ah, I see. Shame. Still if 4 of the Zelda nuts round here got together and did a non assisted run, I would still probably watch it, and probably more than once. But thats probably a discussion for another part of the forum. Edit: And actually, as they would probably have to have it due to the randomness of the game, a recording of the audio communication of the team included with the video(s), would make this gold.
