The movie is 1601 frames (26.68 seconds) faster than the published movie by Highness. Most of timesaver come from boss fight.
Improvement in each stage:
stage 1-1
saved 40 frames on lag reduction. 1-2: saved 135 frames on boss fight and lag reduction. bonus screen: saved 10 frames
stage 2-1
saved 80 frames on faster movement. 2-2: saved 105 frames on boss fight. bonus screen: lost 14 frames, this is possible improvement, you can save these frames if get 50% boss damaging ratio for each player. Unfortunately, I can't.
stage 3-1
saved 80 frames on lag reduction. 3-2: saved 860 frames on boss fight. bonus screen: did't change anything
stage 4-1
saved 115 frames on lag reduction, and destroyed a wall faster. 4-2: saved 190 frames on lag reduction and boss fight

Truncated: Accepted, nice improvements.

NesVideoAgent: Hi! I am a robot. I took a few screenshots of this movie and placed them here. I'm not sure I got the right ROM though. (I tried Sunset Riders (U) [!].gen, which was the closest match to what you wrote.) Well, here goes! Feel free to clean up the list.

adelikat: Processing.

A question for anybody to answer: Wasn't the Sunset Riders TAS done on SNES originally? What prompted the change to Genesis?

Highness did the Genesis version.

This submission is something I whipped up in a couple of days because I got tired of waiting for Phil and Genisto's SNES version of the game.
So, the TAS was supposed to be done on SNES, but it didn't happen.

I don't know why you just care about the game's version. SNES version is not same as this one clean, that game is longer and character moves slower than this, I think, a TAS of that game is not very good to watch. Additionally, SNES version still is not the original one of the game, it's a copy of Arcade version, they are same game clean. So I suggest, if Arcade games-TAS could be accepted in future, we could do the Arcade version, SNES version should drop.

I actually agree with everything you just said. Arcade versions are usually superior to console ports in every respect, so they should naturally take the priority both when considering first-generation movies and improvements, just as per the current ROM region policy.

Length was the primary reason this version was picked in first place and IIRC it was agreed that any longer than that would get boring anyway.

I disagree. Do the arcade version. If there is no arcade emulator like that, make an arcade emulator like that. 4 players. Don't necessarily aim for fastest time - aim to entertain. Make it a vicious fight for the most money. Also, WTF at this being accepted with one vote, but, say, the Pokemon Yellow glitched one, not being accepted until 56. If it meant anything, I'd vote no just because of that.

The votes are just a poll to see whether people liked it, the ultimate decision is still with the judge. This isn't automatic.

It's also rare to see a rejection to an improvement of a published movie. Accepting improvements is nearly automatic (and it's been suggested that it should be an automatic process anyway).

The poll is meant to be an aid for when the judges are unfamiliar with the game, and is almost wholly irrelevant in cases where there's already a published movie, because any judge can watch the published movie in order to acquaint themselves with the game.

Except for Ocarina of Time, or Air.

Wow! I had almost forgot that I made a run at this game. Nice to see it improved. It would have been on my todo list, but I haven't been very active the last year or two. I suspect I will vote YES after watching the movie, without a doubt. Cheers mate! Edit: I have watched the improvement now, and I'm om on the clear like I was b efore watching. This run is well worth a YES-vote. :)

Could someone please replace the screenshot with one that wasn't butchered by NVA?
