Whenever I slow it down to 5% and lower, it gets extremely laggy and hard to work with. 6% works perfectly fine, though. Any solutions?

frame advance, perhaps?
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

To elaborate on that (sorry, but the first reply does come off a little rude): Frame advance is, although it takes some time to get used to, far superior to any percentage slowdown. You have more control (frame precision) over the action, and because it only advances if you press your frame advance button it also vice versa does not advance if you do not want it to, which is also a great advantage. All in all it is the technique you will want to use in a "serious" TAS, it's worth it. http://tasvideos.org/Glossary.html#FrameAdvance

Ah, cool thanks. I tried that before, but I guess I just didn't really know how to maneuver it. Thanks for the link! ^^
