This run focus on ENTERTAINMENT , speed is not a priority here. I tried to make a lot of variations of combos and never repeating the same strategy at any stage. I choose yoshi again, because it's one of my favorite characthers, has an excelent combo potential and is the funniest characther in game.
Stage 1 - Link: Every hit besides the egg is a combo, used the wall a lot to make it entertaining, the last hit was used for a more entertaining finish even notconnecting perfectly.
Stage 2 - Yoshi team : I tried to make this as entertaining as it could be, wasn't a fast completion but it sure was entertaining, a variation of items can be used here because i have the time required for them to appear.
Stage 3 - Fox : Average yoshi combo, although it doesn't look like, every hit conects, fox has already reached the ground at the DAIR so he cannot tech out, you can tell by his upwards spinning animation. Thinking of the perfect combo to kill him entertainingly is hard because of the lack of walls in the stage, the distance to the edge , and the fact that fox is a mid weight characther, being harder to combo with yoshi. Glad this turned out well. ( i didn't use airwing because they take about 15 seconds to appear and most times shoots at the wrong direction.)
Stage 4 : Mario Bros : A few hits in the beggining just to get everything in position, after the blomb explodes every hit connects on both brothers. IMO best looking combo.
Stage 5: Pikachu : Yoshi doesn't have much potential against medium - low weighted characthers, used venosaur to make the combo more entertaining and not having to finish it quicker, every hit connects.
Stage 6: DK : it's impossible to hit a 0 to death on giant DK using yoshi, so i decided to show the beastly damage per sec power yoshi has. Since DK is insanely heavy, the UAIR juggle can be repated very long while still connecting.
Stage 7: Kirby team : there aren't much ways of finishing off kirbys, the coolest way is to spike them to death, so i prefered using it. Added a shield breaker and manipulated link kirby suicide just for fun :P
Stage 8: Samus : This fight was already quite entertaining in my last TAS, did a few modifications at the beginning and spiked her to death , ping pong with lava was short but cool IMO.
Stage 9: Metal Mario : I prefered to keep the egg strategy. I could have also gotten him to 300% and then finishing him off as usual, but that was already done at giant DK, Metal Mario isn't much of a fun fight if u ask me, the eggs is the best way to kill him while still keeping some of entertainment IMO.
Stage 10: Polygon team: Made it less repetitive and used most items as i could. Pretty entertaining overall.
Final Stage: I used a diferent way of manipulating the Hand's move at the beggining which i couldn't get to work in the speedrun, that allowed me to parry the crush and keep going on with the hits. There really is no way more entertaining than that to kill the hand off, still it's a cool way.
Bonus Stages: Completed as everyone requested, since i'm not going to the fastest time there's no reason to skip them now.
I hope this run is better seen by the sight of the expectators than the last run, because it trully is more entertaining than pure speed.
mmbossman: This movie demonstates a good superplay of this game; it shows off funny and interesting fights while still maintaining a quick tempo. It is clear that this is a tool-assisted movie to a normal viewer, and viewer feedback has been extremely positive. As such, I am accepting this for publication as a "playaround" type movie. Future runs will be judged by the entertainment value and mastery of the game, rather than the final completion time.
That was entertaining as all hell. It was like watching a pro-leaguer blaze through the game while fucking with the opponent. That was awesome.

Why, you've shown me the light! This one sentence just destroyed the foundation of my affection for playing Brawl competitively! I am so glad you are here to bestow this wisdom upon us!
Christ, I can understand preferring Melee to Brawl but ranting for an entire post about how much Brawl sucks for balance issues (nevermind the fact that Melee was Space Animals, A Ninja, and Some Prissy Bitch With A Longsword) as if to try and convince us to toss aside the game is just ridiculous.
As for specific examples, Kirkq did his job just fine. Brawl is just a different game. I wouldn't mind you preferring one over the other inasmuch as you demand that we prefer it too, by making hours of statements about how hard Brawl sucks and is unbalanced and caters to spamming etc etc etc. [/b]
Favorite part: "Idiots at SWF".
That was classy.

I've seen many a stunt pulled on various games before, but this is truly the benchmark right here. Butt-stomping to edge-grab at Yoshi Stage, playing a little lava ping-pong with Samus, and the way you avoided that crushing blow with Master Hand. There were also a lot of interesting enough quip's in there, like how you shoved Pikachu down the shaft between the Silph building and another building beside it, the timed beam-sword drops at Fighting Polygon Team, and the Mario Bros. fight was a bit crazy.
Some interesting points to notice, though, the Link fight could have been improved. If he was close to the edge you would have down-spiked him. Something to follow up on the next time you, or anyone wishes to "playthrough" it again.

Yes, because my declaration of my opinion was just uncivilized compared to your immediate following declaration of an opinion.
Brawl is bad, I'm not telling anyone to not play it at all, but you're heading for a brick wall if you wanna play in tournaments, because the entire scene has basically been defined.
And yes, "Idiots at SWF", because they seriously considered allowing a glitch which removes the entirety of a characters hitbox, literally making it impossible to beat him because you can't hit him. Anybody willing to consider the validity of that kind of strategy doesn't belong in fighting game communities. Obviously not everyone there is moronic, just alot of the newer brawl players, especially since this is their first exposure to fighting games in general. Their inexperience is to be expected.

Worth doing, but good luck on not ending up just copying the exact same strat for all the current TAS and non TAS strats and ending up saving a measly few frames.
In my opinion, this movie doesn't cover everything what is possible with the Super Smash Bros. 64 engine. Also, it seems the player didn't put much effort into this. He made it soon after his first submission, the re-record count isn't as high as I think should have been. In the Yoshi stage, the player even misses a Forward Aerial, if I remind correctly...
It's not like I can't stand watching it but I find videos by Andt more entertaining, especially the 2-player combos. Thus I'm really looking forward to a multiplayer superplay movie. Maybe a 2vs2 match?

can you really criticize the run like this if u don't even know what a DJC is?
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself.
It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the
kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional
functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success."

Ok, now I know what that was for. (I know what DJC means, it just looked like you wanted to attack the enemy.)
Still, for me, it's not a movie I can watch over and over.
Maybe because I don't like Yoshi as a character or because of some boring levels in the classic mode (team yoshi or rttf, for example). That's why I suggested a multiplayer 2vs2 run where entertaining 2-player combos can be shown.

Yes, because rerecords should be how we judge a movie.
For one, Blaze mentioned he did a lot of testing with this game. I don't think many rerecords needed to be used for that purpose here.
iirc, Blaze is a SSB player. Someone who knows the game doesn't need to use as many rerecords.
This is a playaround, not a "shave every frame possible" type run. This has the right amount of effort I would expect.
Nico has finished two SSB runs in a night's work before. When antD last showed me hisWIP, it barely had 700 rerecords, because as he said "he knows what needs testing and what doesn't." My own run took only a week, but that's only because every time I finished a stage, I wouldn't start the next stage at the drop of a hat, and I'm a slow worker.
My point is that the run is not rushed/of bad quality. Many of the maneuvers are pulled off very well, it has some good luck manipulation, and the simple fact is that when time does not become a factor, there is not as much stress towards making sure each enemy is being killed on the first frame possible. He even wasted time to lump enemies together to kill them at the same time! On the 3 parts where he did make time matter- the BtT, BtP, and Master hand- he did those with very good quality.
This is a good TAS as it's done quite quickly and also entertaining to watch too; those are the two things that TAS is all about. I don't know why this is rated as 5.9.
I don't like how he got the game name wrong. Comicalflop says two comments above me that Blaze knows the game well, so why would he put an unnecessary "64" at the end of the game name? The game is called "Super Smash Bros.". Period.
I know, CoolKirby! The "64" thing is just a retronym, like "Earthbound 0", and it's not even necessary here because the site will indicate "N64" before the game's name.
put yourself in my rocketpack if that poochie is one outrageous dude
