I most certainly second the PSX Armored Core since the customizability that directly affects your performance, wicked controls and timed missions gives a TAS a big enjoyability factor :) I do not, however, think anyone interested in TASing on the PSX should do an RPG like FF, Legaia or Wild Arms. These are all very linear games with a very low entertainment value.. Since you practically can't do any special "moves", move slowly, encounter lots and lots of text tool-assisted is not the way to go imo. A speedrun is probably more fun to those requesting RPGs and all the TASers can focus on games that actually make good TASes. No offense ofc :) Just a viewers point of view (DISCLAIMER: I'm a HUGE RPG-fan, I have every PSX RPG released in Europe and pretty much everything since then. I'm not claiming the genres sucks just that it sucks for TASing.)
I generally suck at games requiring any form of skill so I watch others cheat their way through them to feel better.

What I find interesting with Armored Core project phantasma is that you can load your AC from the previous game (Human plus, the Karasawa weapon, credits...) Other suggestions -Legacy of Kain Soul reaver -No one can stop mr.domino (XD) -And again (I want it so much) Pacman World, there are so many shortcuts, so many tricks, so many ways to save time... I'll certainly try to help if someone try to make a TAS of this game.

Pacman world is a good idea, I played it a little back in the day and just tried it and the graphics and sound are well emulated. It looks like it has some TAS potential. I am going to play through quest mode then I might start to TAS it.

- FF8. I would certainly take the challenge. I've played the game so many times! PLus, with luck maniuplation, it would be possible to draw a lot of magic at the time. I'm not too sure about cards... Anyway, as soon as Squall be get Aura casted on him, he's an unstoppable killing machine. I think I can kill Ultemecia in less than 5 minutes, and without any summons! I wish animations could be skipped... - Breath of fire III and IV. The latter would probably be harder (2 non-stop boss fights at the end!). For III, the big guy's critical attack (a technique, actually) could be indecently manipulated - Tales of eternia. One of my favourite soudntracks ever. Another challenge ahead! - Grandia 1.

If you are seriously considering this, you should hop over to the Speed Demos Archive forum to look for the guy who was trying this. Apparently he got really far and beat the game in a reasonable time, but his run was rejected because he lost one segment and couldn't get the experience points to match up exactly when he tried to rerecord it. (I hope I'm not wrong about that description of events. I thought it was extremely lame that his whole hours-long run got thrown in the bin for such a reason.) You should be able to get a lot of tips from him if he's still around somewhere.

Garr's Gambit (halves hit%, critical if hits) costs 0 AP, so it could be abused quite nicely. Other zero cost skills that might be mapulatable include Jump (Random damage), Multistrike (1-3 attacks, half damage per attack) and Risky Blow (same as Gambit). Garr can also get his best weapon (in terms of attack power), by around mid-game, the only minus being that he takes 5% MaxHP damage each turn in battle. As for characters, I think Ryu and Garr would be best, with either Rei (his best weapon is a really rare drop from a really rare and powerful monster) or Momo (her best weapon has the highest power of all weapons and can be bought). The Chain Formation is extremely powerful if you take your time to get it and level Ryu so he has a lot of Agility, that way you can get EX Turns even against the last boss with all your characters. I'm really not sure which Masters would be the best, but since most attacks will most likely be physical attacks, then any master that gives +Power are probably best for this sort of game. There's also a speedrun FAQ here. Haven't read it, but might come in handy.

I honestly dont know why there is no MM8 run in progress. Someone should step up to this doable challenge! How about a Valkyrie Profile run? Although anything that is not 100% would not be enjoyable because the runs on SDA are already very fast and entertaining.

Final Fantasy 7-9 Like some here in this thread I was somewhat skeptical if a FF-TAS would be entertaining, but then I saw GarlandGs TAS-ish run of FF7 and it kept me craving for more, so I would love to see a TAs of those games. ^^

another I would like to see : tales of eternia (tales of destiny II in the US). One of my favoritre soundtracks (especially the techno-like music like celestia boss battle). Those move combinations should be easy to manipulate

An exhibition of all the silliness in Pocket Fighter would not go amiss. Perhaps done as a "human vs. human" tournament? Edit: any game that can make screenshots like this one can't be all bad: (taken from the Arcade version, granted)

These are my suggestions: Vigilante 8 / Twisted Metal: Most racing games are not accepted here, but maybe weaponry-based racing games get better luck Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo: Why not? One of the best Tetri-esque games ever Street Fighter EX2 Plus and/or EX plus Alpha ...what? I like this series... Street Fighter Alpha series each game is unique, and all of them are great. Alpha 3 PS1 version may not be that great, thought. Spyro The Dragon Lovely series. Spider-Man 1 and 2 Best Spider-Man game ever Rayman 1 Beatiful game, also great Mega Man X4 Why the best X game in PS1 still doesn't have any game? =( Zero for any% and X for 100% Mega Man X5 and X6 100% Why not? Chrono Cross To get Bisqwit happier :3

The MGS1 TAS is getting pretty ridiculous and I'm not sure whether I want to touch this game again once I'm done this run, so I'll add VR Missions and a pure-speed Japanese run of MGS1 (to beat Zeno's 1:16) to the list. Also,

Alpha 3 PSX version has a mode that doesnt appear in the arcade version - World Tour, where the character you use gains levels and new abilities to customise the various -isms. A TAS of this mode would be well worth the watch imo.
