Suggestion thread. The 14% run has been suggested. I don't think arguing over it here is the best use of this thread. Tails in Sonic 1- "too similar" seems off to me. Crystalis no warping-code- follows the actual game sequence(well, more) instead of level-selecting. Zelda Outlands for reasons listed by others.

I think this is the most rational suggestion on this issue. Let that run be bumped to the submission forums, and let the flamewar be continued in that thread. No need to garbage this thread.

Yeah, that one is pretty much put on hold for me indefinitely. I didn't really intend to finish it when I started, I just wanted to get something started so that someone more focused and determined than me could perhaps do a complete run eventually. Though there didn't seem to be a lot of interest in that run. Anyway, although Ragowit's run is very good technicaly, it can be improved, so I personally think someone should start doing a new Fire n' Ice TAS. ;) (I personally don't have the time right now)

I forgot I need to write my suggestions. Stupid Super Metroid Argument. Madou Mandogari, by Afaq Colorful and fun run, good luck manipulation that results in silly elephant-based attacks. Outrun, by Weatherton The run is just fine with the sound off. Maybe a lua scripter could find a way to encode the run without the constant braking noise. Outrun had some of the best video game lounge music ever, and I could never beat that damn game as a kid. Tails in Sonic also gets my vote.

Wait, what? There was an Outrun run and it wasn't approved? Blasphemy. *checks* Ah, I see, it happened long before I joined. Well, basically I approve everything DarkKobold said. Virtual yes vote to all of them.

I edited my first post (right at the beginning) to list all the suggestions so far along with the submission numbers.

zggzdydp's N64 Akumajou Dracula Mokushiroku Gaiden If it actually syncs for everybody else but me, this should go back on the workbench. It's actually a very well played movie (coming from somebody who's done the same run on a console).

I'd like to point a few examples of attitudes took by OTHER users that really made me sick in the 16% run thread:
This is a good point, but just to make my view on this clear, I didn't mind any of the quotes you listed except Angerfist's troll response, and mmbossmans ignorant reply right below it. As for the bias, of course mmbossman will never admit it in the interest to keep his own reputation here clean, but the fact that all he could do was giving a ignorant troll response when I provided clear and obvious arguments against his own reasons for rejection, clearly indicates bias here. Same goes for ignoring the multiple attempts asking to take position on why other runs with even more arbitrary goals (like the "small only" SMW one) got published right away while the 14% didn't. As you see, it's pretty obvious, so don't be misled by anybody trying to tell you the otherwise. What you observe yourself is what counts, not what anybody is trying to tell you.

The accusations of bias over the rejection of the 14% run in the thread, ends now.

Thanks for keeping the list, alden. Perhaps you should switch your 3 suggestions to 'suggested by alden,' for clarity sake.

What's the technical problem with SC2? Desync? But we have already got at least one published movie that will always desync.

Ah, yes, I forgot about the N64 Castlevania run. I also support that. Thanks, VG.

Personally, I'd like to throw the Abadox run into the hat. http://tasvideos.org/1168S.html I know it's one of those autoscrollers like Gradius, but I think this one had a lot of effort, time, and entertaining tricks put into it. The game itself is incredibly difficult under normal circumstances, so it does add a little to the value of the run, in my opinion. Normally I'd let it slide, but I think this one deserves a posting, totally. If anything, at least, I was entertained by it. And on a side note, I still say the boss of the fourth level is massively creepy; if nothing else, the SFX does it for me. *Shudder*

Personally, I think that TASvideos should have a section dedicated to April fools submissions, because although they may have arbitrary goals or ridiculous game choices, they are still good for a laugh every so often, making them worthwhile enough to be "published" in a separate section.

I vote for obsoleting the current Super Metroid 100% run with the one with input animation, just to see if the site can handle a loop of movies obsoleting each other, and because I think it was a huge mistake to take out the animation (a.k.a entertainment) of such a large run just because it was another person's idea, as the author of the current run explained. This submission was rejected.

Eh, there was more than one reason the animation weren't reproduced. I do agree that run was the most entertaining of them all, though, and not only due to the animations.

I think a better solution to this predicament would be to strongly encourage input animation on a future run.
