Of course it would be a great timeattack to do. The game features very beautiful highlights etc.. Go for it

most glitches u discover while playing it at very slow speed trying to avoid enemies at extreme situations.. so it's basically always about playing games twice for a good run :P

Okey.. it's done.. After 6 desync in act 5 (enemys hideout) im done :) I hate desync.. thats why i had to rerecord 3300+ :P I left some of the intro's in every act just because they are soo cool ;) and thats not all, in this game you can do some pretty nice moves. Soo here it is... Michael Jacksons Moonwalker to Genesis. Enjoy this super game that brings you back in the 80's when we was kids/teenagers. It brings back many memories. Great Animation, Dancing and SFX... who can stand the Bass rythm in Billy Jean, the feeling of coolness in Bad or the terror of Thriller etc??.. ;) I hope it does'nt desync for you guys http://frenom.areta.org/fmv/moonwalker-frenom.zip Movie length: 26 min 30 sec Rom used "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (JUE) (REV 00) [b1].bin" And ofcourse is it played at HARD.

Great video, Frenom. Very well done--actually, considering the material you worked with and the way you handled things, it looked like a well-choreographed music video. In case you haven't had enough nostalgia, here's a review of the actual movie.

I just had an interesting thought. I think this game might make for a very unusual TAS. Instead of a time-attack, maybe an overly-stylized runthrough where all the moves, jumps, and attacks go with the music to make an elaborate video game music video?

Well, if there's something you lack, it's not creativity. :) I'd very much like to see such a movie!

Well, I believe this is exactly what the original movie is all about, a gigantic music video =p Are you planning to sync only with the videogame music or the original songs as well?

I get the feeling you aren't really understanding what I mean, so I'm going to whip up something for the first stage to see what you think.

The current run is a 2005 movie, so I had a try at obsoleting it. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/295121134/Moonwalker.gmv Link to video This WIP saves 537 frames over the published run, or 8.94 seconds.

Is the only reason you are faster is because you don't do the dance? I'd vote against a movie that simply took out the cool dances.

Nope. While most of it is because of the dance, some other stuff is optimized. Even with the dance included I still saved 71 frames. And plus, the dances in the current run are unoptimal, so I could save time in the dance too. I think it's ok if I don't do the dance. Frenom only did the dance because he thought it saved time, from what I can gather.

For what is worth, I would agree that the dances should only be used when they save time unless you tag the run with 'trades speed for entertainment'. I will miss the dances, yes, but I (at least) won't use it against the run.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/620081309/Michael%20Jackson%27s%20Moonwalker%2020140115.gmv Having been grappled with 2-1 boss fight. I managed to cut another 2 seconds on last WIP (once posted here but deleted to redo). Since all other plans ended up being slower, I guess this is the best I can do.
