Actually, I noticed that behaviour a few days ago. I find it a lot easier to express my ideas through images than words, so I'm changing my way of posting. I usually take a LONG time to write something and after that I edit it a million times (maybe you can check that too), because I can never find the correct words for my thought. I can't even cite quotes correctly without google because I always mix the words. My thoughts are like big blocks of ideas, so I have to break them in little parts for other people to understand. I started writing this just after you posted the message above, and look at all the time I wasted on this process... Also writing stuff in the beginning then in the end then in the middle then in the end then coming back to the beginning again... ah... But I pick images very very very easily, then I can express my idea without typing. Anyway I suck at writing, more info here EDIT: and when I look at what I wrote, I feel weird, like it was done by someone else, because I can't remember what I was thinking at that moment just by looking at the text. If someone showed me anything I've written like 5 years ago, without saying it was me, I would certainly find it cool and ask who did that. When I look at an image I posted (or a drawing I make, in real life), I see my idea there, like I was jumping back in time.

I used to think that religion was a bunch of fairytales too, and I didn't believe anything paranormal or spiritual. I admired scientists like Einstein and Richard Dawkins. But it all changed when my girlfriend broke up with me. She was everything for me, so when she left me I stopped caring about everything. I no longer cared if Big Bang or evolution was true or not. I didn't care about evidence, or even rationality or logic anymore. I discarded all that because it was all worthless. That's the point when religions and paranormal things suddenly started to make sense to me. It was like a veil had been lifted from my eyes and I was finally able to see the spiritual world, the invisible world. The reason that religion started to make sense to me is because I didn't care about anything, so I was unbiased, and my mind was open for anything.

The problem with atheists is that they try to use their brain too much. They have to open their mind if they want to see God. It is the soul that thinks and the brain is just a modem which connects the soul and the brain with the astral silver cord (Ecclesiastes 12:6-7). What do we need a brain for when we have gods who have lived before us and have figured out everything? Why reinvent the wheel? We just have to read the Bibles they have written and ask God. Use faith. Not brain. The same way that we had faith in our parents when we were small children. Parents know much more than a little child. And the Father knows more than his children.

The danger in not using your brain is that you could believe absolutely ridiculous things that only benefit some certain spiritual leaders and neither you nor your friends. Of course you can also use it too much and that can actually cause the exact same problems. Btw, the first part of your post seems familiar. Why not just post a link to your youtube video? ;)

I'm pretty certain that most Christian sects would frown on actively ignoring your ability to think and help yourself. Down that road lies apathy and refusal to fix your own problems.

Whatever happened to "God helps those who help themselves"? Depending on your interpretation, you might not need anything more than just faith to end up in heaven after you die, but you'll sure need more than just faith to have a good life on Earth. For that matter, most interpretations I'm aware of require faith and repentance for sins, and failure to do anything useful with your life would certainly qualify as a sin. Note that I'm writing here as an agnostic who was raised Christian. It's been awhile since I boned up on the Bible. But most religions don't actively encourage you to be a useless lump.

You know what happens? Jesus was a cool guy, pretty smart and all the stuff but he accepted any retard as a follower... that was his big mistake. The assholes did everything wrong and he was like "it's OK, don't worry, I forgive you. I'm Jesus LOL". Now things are like this... I think his intention was to be an EXAMPLE. Right, I don't see why opening your mind and using your brain have to be mutually exclusive. I've also never been taken by "soul of the gaps" arguments. I can grasp the concept of a disembodied mind, but a "soul" as it's often described comes across as a kind of parasitic ghost that has to do half the brain's work for it and tries to lay claim to someone's identity. Who needs such a thing?

Sweet. Reminds me of the meetings I attend where students sing Christian songs together. On one hand I find it a bit scary, but on the other it's still kind of nice. May I recommend you the band named Skillet? I think they're quite ok and probably my favourite Christian band. Heavier style than what you've posted. I believe the soul is what does the thinking. The brain works as an organ that translates that thinking into the material world.
