So what is a '.lua script', and how do you use them? Specifically I want to be able to run the script nitsuja posted in the Sonic 3 and Knuckles thread. An, addmitably very quick, google search nor a brouse here seems to spell it out for newbies. I am assuming you do not load the file up like you would a movie file in the emulatior, as I can not seem to find a 'script' box to fill in in the emulator menu anywhere. Also just curious as to what 'scripts' actually do? The script above, amongst other things, keeps the players character on screen at all times. Does it do that by temporarly 're-coding' (for lack of a better word, due to not knowing any better) the emulator or the ROM, or is it something else completley?

Get the emulator version with lua support. There should be an option titled "Run lua script" or something, but I'm not familiar with Gens systems. Copy the "lua file" into notepad and save it as "Something.lua" Run the lua script. What scripts actually do is modify RAM values. In this scenario, modifying the camera apparently does not affect the game in the slightest (lag, etc.), which is why it is possible to apply this to a video without it desynchronizing.

Download gens11 Open gens 11 Open the rom drag & drop the .lua file onto the emulator.
