About the game

Akumajou Dracula Mokushiroku Gaiden, aka. Castlevania Legacy of Dardness, the second CV game on N64.

About the run

In the run I choose Henry, he is not the first character. For U version you must have a save to use him, but for J version it needs not, so I used J version for the run because Mupen can't record movie from reset. Henry's objective, he must rescue 6 children found in 6 stages within specified time.
The second stage Castle wall, actually I can leave the area just after rescue the child, but I went to the top of it for a moon card because I'll use it later. There is a coffin at the end of Villa stage, it could warp to three different areas in different periods, the cards could change current time, this is why I collected them before here. I also found some shortcuts in some areas such as the child rescuing in Outer wall, which saved lots of time.
Thanks to Sir VG for his help.

mmbossman: I apologize for taking so long to judge this submission, I've had a lot going on recently, and adelikat said it desynched for him.
As for the run, it feels like one long fetch quest, and in the worst of ways. The technical aspect looks to be of as high of quality as previous zggzdydp runs (that is to say, fairly high), but the entertainment aspect is sorely lacking. Two very similar boss fights were the most exciting part of this run, but the rest wasn't enough to make up for it, and it appears much of the audience agrees. Sorry, but I'm rejecting this.

mmbossman: This submission has been given another chance at publication. If you feel it should be published, instead of returning to the grue, please post WHY in the thread. Similarly, if you do NOT think this movie should be published, post WHY.

mmbossman: I still find this to be a bad goal choice for a run. People seem to like it by proxy, in the hopes that a full run using Cornel will eventually come along, and that this run is good enough for the time being. With that in mind, I'm going to accept this, with the likelihood that it will be obsoleted if/when a good quality Cornel run is submitted.

ShinyDoofy: Considering publication until further notice...

sp00ky: Assisting with encode, estimate completion on monday.

adelikat: Apparently Sp00ky neglected to mention which year that monday would fall in. This is obviously not "underway", resetting to accepted status. I'd like to see some level of urgency from a publisher on this one.
ShinyDoofy: Processing...

I don't like a game just because it has "Castlevania" in the title. Even if the run is well done, it still sucks. Think of Frontline, but for the N64.
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

Good one but a little short, YES to you.
I am old enough to know better, but not enough to do it.

I'm not that thrilled about this movie. It's very uneventful, there is hardly any challenging situations to deal with and the ending is anti-climatic. I have to vote 'no', but I can't wait to see a regular run through the game :-)

Honnestly half of jumps hes doing are impossible to do real time Youll still lack "events" in the complete run, as you can skip any cutscene as far as i remember For a henry run i dont see how it could have been better

same feeling as originally posted on page 1: it was fairly well optimized from the view of someone who did this a long time ago but significantly less entertaining than a cornell run would be and something i remember fast forwarding through the majority of oh and it seems once again other people are clamoring for a cornell run much kudos will be awarded to someone undertaking that

Hey, I apologize if this is rude to ask, but how's encoding going for this movie? I know there's all kinds of good movies being encoded, but this has been sitting for probably a month or two.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Sp00ky had been working on this and I haven't heard back from him ever since. However, I will give it another shot soon-ish.

Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately, my server has gone down the crapper. Thus, I'd have to reupload it from home (which I can't right now). I'll try to get it up again as soon as I find the time to do so. /edit: There you go

The protagonist would look half as stupid if he didn't throw his hands up in the air with every jump. It's like he's trying to hit a volleyball or something. Raise the roof! There's no recovering from the ridiculous look of wearing half a suit of armor while wielding a gun, however. I did like the ambient music, though. It's not very CastleVania, but it fits somewhere between Chrono Trigger and Parasite Eve. I found the "touring the mine" stage was kinda cool for whatever reason. It had good atmosphere. This game had promise. What's shown here is what I'd expect about halfway through development.
