This is a Super Mario Bros speedrun. You see that it's a little faster that the normal. Because I rename the file Super Mario Bros (Euro), instead of Super Mario Bros (E).
  • Emulator used: FCEU 0.98.15
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Abuses programming errors in the game
  • Manipulates luck
  • Uses warps
This is my second submission. It's a speedrun of Super Mario Bros for NES. The European Version. I renamed it to Super Mario Bros (Euro). If you want to play this movie, download Super Mario Bros (E), rename it to Super Mario Bros (Euro).
The glitches: At world 4-2 I used the glitch. It's jumping backwards to object. You see I did it two times. At world 8-2 at the end I used the Bullet Bill Glitch. It's easy to do this glitch at USA/Japan Version of this game. At world 8-4 I did a walljump at the second room of the castle.

adelikat: Tricking the game into running a PAL game at NTSC speed is against the rules. Rejecting.

That vid was made on a PAL version with NTSC timing so it's faster than it should be. Needless to say this vid will be rejected soon.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

Yep. The run is 5:17.11 long according to the converted FM2 file. So it's slower than the existing record, which is 4:57.33.

Gah... I just realised I confused myself. The run is 5:17.11 with the PAL (E) timing while the record is 4:57.33 with the NTSC (JU) timing. Since you used the (E) version, even though a (JU) version of the game exists, it's going to be rejected in a matter of hours, in my opinion. To mods/admins: Please change the time from 4:24.92 to 5:17.11.

As a general rule, you should get your hack approved by the admins before submitting (or possibly even making) a run. There's millions of SMB hacks out there and very few of them would be good enough to be worth having a run up on this site, given the current publication system (no mechanism for niche movies, etc.). Edit: Whoops! I thought this was for his hack submission. Two movies for almost the same game, by the same author, on the workbench at the same time. Oh, well...
