If we can get vbalink work with original game boy games and have TAS capabilities, we can do 2-player TASes of certain games like Pokemon Red and Blue. Catching all 151 Pokemon using the MissingNo. glitch to get all three starters and Eeveelutions, and the Mew glitch. Best way to get 'em all is to get 130+ Rare Candies by abusing the MissingNo. glitch and you will get enough. In order to get Mewtwo, you have to beat the Elite Four with either version or both. Edit: I don't think the guide is necessary.

Wait a minute, now, when the players are trading the middle form of an evolution chain like this, wouldn't they want to trade back again right away so they can keep getting the experience boost from having a different trainer's Pokemon? That is, if leveling through battling is even part of the plan...

You may not like what I put in for the guide, but if both players use the same Pokemon and make less trades, will it be faster that way?

What is it, a minute (plus reset) per trade? Even if you can sync two emulators with different inputs to the point that they can link trade with other in a TAS, I doubt it's any faster than running into all 151 with a single game and spurious use of FCBM.

As all Pokemon can be caught in a single cart for Red/Blue without trading through glitches, you might have to think bigger. Something like a Blue/Gold/Silver/(Crystal) playthrough. ... Or a R/S/E/FR/LG/Colleseum/XD run. (Would you need Pokemon Box and Pokemon Channel in there too for that one?)

Seeing as some of the evolved forms of some pokemon can be caught relatively easily, I think you should consider doing that instead of evolving all the pokemon.

The RESET option is for after trading. For without starting from scratch in red in blue both being played at once, press CONTINUE. Could you even consider catching all Pokemon in a single game via a game hack? I don't think so, as not all hacks can be accepted here at TASVideos. TASes of Minor Hacks are usually rejected.

No hacks needed - in the original, unmodified version of Pokemon Blue, it's possible to catch all 151 pokemon through the use of the Missingno. glitch and the Mew glitch. See the original thread on catching all 151 for more details.

Not only can you catch all 151 Pokemon on a single R/B/Y cart with the assistance of only glitches (and such a route has been planned in another thread), you can also catch all 251 Pokemon on a single G/S/C cart with the assistance of only glitches. =P (Whether the entries will show up in the Pokedex or not without trades, and whether glitching the Pokemon in is faster than trading them is another matter entirely, though.) I would have to agree, though, that if you really want to make a run with trades impressive, run the Gen 3 games (R/S/E/FR/LG) or the Gen 4 games (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/Heart Gold/Soul Silver) instead.

The point of TASing both Red and Blue is to show they can both be beaten with the same input. It would be an exciting encode to watch, two games side by side being beaten with the same input, despite not being the same game! We wouldn't even need to add TAS features to VBA-L.

They're ALMOST the same game, though. Hey PikachuMan, why did you erase your guide? Even if it never gets used, it's still fun to think about.

Oh, I thought you were just totally clueless about what the different color versions are like.

What if we do 4 players with the Japanese versions (after we get VBALink TAS capable and use hotkeys to switch between link-ups (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and 4-way))?
