Emulator used: dega-1.16pre1-win32-z80jb MAME core.
Aims for fastest time.
Takes damage to save time.
Aims for 100% collection.
And here we see yours truly collecting all scrolls and other collectable items. This is a 100% run. By obtaining stronger swords and abilities, it obviously made all the boss fights easier than I expected. Except for the last boss. No matter what ability you have, he will always remain a pain in the ass. Next, I will be improving my any% of Kenseiden or work on Alex Kidd in Miracle World.
Edit: I think its very important to know that you cannot take a single hit during the trials. Then you are forced to start over. That is why I could not once take a hit to save time.

mmbossman: Good, if sparse, viewer response. Accepting as a 100% category to be published alongside the current any% run.

Very nice! This looks a lot better than the current Any% run. For one, you manage to get health powerups from some enemies, though it doesn't seem you need to be as careful with managing your health. I guess things also get a lot easier once you have the Berserker ability too... Either of your upcoming SMS ideas sound great. You've been doing awesome stuff lately, Angerfist.

I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. This is vastly better than the old any%. Even the first couple of stages before you gain any of the additional abilities are improved. I also understand a little bit better why the other boss fights in the any% looked so bad - you're meant to be a much more powerful character when you fight them. Yes vote, of course.

Argh! Desyncs for me right at the end of level 1. Mr. Samurai-face ends up stopping just short of the end, and gets kicked past the end-of-level point by the flaming skulls. The Dega and ROM versions both match up. Anything else I should look for?

...that your version of Dega uses the MAME core? There's two different versions of 1.16a.

I'm unsure, but it's worth trying to turn off (uncheck) the FM Chip option.
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

Thanks, klmz. That little switch did the trick. I can now watch the Adventures of the Jogging Samurai all the way through. Now that I can watch the run, I can see its Yesliness.

Angerfist, you've accidentally noted the movie file as your rom filename...

Here's an encode for you folks: http://www.archive.org/download/SmsKenseiden100ByAngerfistIn1317.02/kenseiden-tas-100p-angerfist.mkv ...and over on DM: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xbum3i_sms-kenseiden-100-by-angerfist-in-1_videogames Should this be accepted, I'll probably use something similar to the following screenshot (frame 16626): (...just to demonstrate how intentionally difficult the game is.)

I haven't seen the current any % version of this run, but this one didn't really do it for me. It was pretty slow paced, and the levels only got interesting for the last 1/3 of the movie. Voting meh.

Im going to trow in a yes vote, i somewhat agree with mmbossman tough, the action is kinda slowpaced, well, the samurai is quite slow (and look a bit ridiculous while....joging?). Now the thing is i played this game (nostalgia!), and you surely did a good at making it look easy while its not.

Sorry to bump this, but I watched this movie again, and it misses a region. Just after the fly-type boss which gives you the power to "smash the helmet of foe", you never enter the region which is down and left of it. I'm sorry I didn't catch this way earlier.

I'm working on Kenseiden "All Stages", it's a 100% run mostly, but it doesn't miss any region .... and I'm about almost done, have to redo the final boss fight because it desynched, but .... before I submit it to voting and such ... should I really aim for this? Is it worth? Will it obsolete this movie? If it helps, look at the information: - I started working on Kenseiden because I have a shortcut that get 1300 frames faster to the end on stage 9 ... - Got to the memory watching and found out many ways to improve it.. - Did it with the region, and lost around 900 frames of the improvement because it is a longer level. - But the region in question is useless, and it's seen on the any% run... (IF my shorcut doesn't turn out worth obsoleting this one too) - So, which one is better? All Stages, or just 100%?? @____@ I really need to know what would be better .... ... or I could do both and make TASvideos accept 3 different videos of Kenseiden ..? \o/ But really, on the almost final count I'm 480 frames faster, .. that's 8 seconds, right? x.x

I'm sorry, but since I don't know the game, I can't help you answer those questions, but I have a different suggestion. I think you should post your questions either in the thread you have already created here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11691, or the thread AngerFist made of his WIP here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5765. I think you will get more responses there.
