As most of you know, we use advertisements to offset the costs of hosting the site. We also would like to use left over money (if any) to fund awards in future years. How relevant are you finding the ads being provided on the site? How many ads interest you? How many don't? Can you perhaps come up with a keyword which you think would describe an ad which would interest you and is related to this site?

I used to have Adblock enabled, which removed all the ads, until I discovered that it in some cases it hindered the operation of certain useful javascript/flash elements (the embedded videos at tasvideos.org being one but not the only example), so I disabled it. However, unfortunately I have to confess that over the many years I have browsed the WWW I have developed such a strong ad blindness that I mostly don't even notice the ads, so I can't rally even tell what they are about. Maybe I should try paying attention to them just to form an opinion on their relevance.

I use mozilla's adblock plus. I find advertisements annoying... I couldn't think of any ad that would catch my eye.

I don't use AdBlock... but I always find myself completely ignoring ads anyway. When you've been living in a state of being unable to buy anything you want for your whole life (Especially via the Internet), you kind of tune out to advertisements shoving goods in your face. Basically, I doubt you'll be able to make the ads more relevant to me, sorry. Edit: "Nokia Ovi Photo Storage" is kind of pointless if I use a free service called 'imageshack.us', incidentally. Yes, I just peeked at an ad, to be met with disappointment. =P

I tried whitelisting tasvideos just now, but glancing at the source it looks like Google "needs" to run some Javascript on my machine... That's not gonna happen, even if it means no "donkey kong anime soundtrack" for me. I think I'll just donate $5 to the site next time I have some money in my Paypal account. That's probably more than the site would ever get through clicks, if I ever actually clicked on ads.

I use adblocking filters because it keeps things from loading and slowing my browsing experience down, especially the Flash ads

I'm not so much interested in our small amount of members seeing the ads or ignoring them. I'm more interested in our considerably larger group of non members who visit our site. They won't ever donate, but they keep coming back for more. So I want our ads to target them as best as possible. I was hoping that perhaps our existing members might have similar tastes to those who aren't members, and could provide constructive ideas to improve our ad revenue.

I don't know about which ads is better, I don't really look at them. But wouldn't it be possible to sell then at a better price. Maybe you could just point out some online store about video game that would like to advertise on the site ? I guess sites to game, accessories and stuff like that would be better than Free Web Hosting Service.

I can think of a few Retrogaming Classic Video Games Hobby Hacking Programming Coding Nintendo Genesis There are a few targeted ads that might grab my attention.

Many TASers are geeks ; if you played video games in the 80s or early 90, and visit this site, you propably know what an emulator is and you like to fiddle with computers. So you're a gamer and you are interested in hardware stuff since you wished you could play PS2 games on your computer.
