Current running time: 10:53 About the arrows with the boss, for some reason I couldn't always fire every 17 frames. (Guessing something to do with the number of sprites on the screen). So I just fired ASAP at every chance and used the mandatory delay to move around. I couldn't get the last arrow to the last Knight before he started his last jump. *shrug* I tried though. I got way more rupees than I thought I would be able to. ^_^ So good on that. If you're playing it with nitsuja's new version thing, I've got #1, #2, and #3 checked, but I don't think I've used #2. EDIT: Grammar.

Great, finally at least one dungeon is complete. How did you manage to manipulate all of those enemies to independently drop rupees in that one spin slash? Unless their drop rate is much higher than rats, that's a very unlikely occurance. But I did notice the 2 enemies you manipulated not to drop rupees, why is that better again? It looked like they were directly in your path and you ended up staying for a few frames where they would drop their rupees anyway. Also about rupees, is there a gambling game in the dark world I'm forgetting about or is the only one in the light world? Because the one in the light world takes a whole 12 seconds or so per 30 rupees gained, which is really slow compared to other methods of getting rupees.

Yes, I know, finally. ^_^;; I was actually trying to get only the four drops on the right hand side. That's the best I could come up with without pausing. Drops seem to be affected by a combination of which direction you are facing, where you are, which direction you are moving in (if any), if you are taking an action (such as swinging your sword or using an item), and what frame it is, but it doesn't seem to be affected by what path you take (ie, if I kill the enemy then go up+right+up then wait for the drop, I get the same drop if I went right+upx2 after the drop.) Lots of possibilities, you just have to brute force it, I suppose. I can't remember why I didn't manipulate those. Especially the one on the left. Seems really dumb now that I see it. >.> I can try to hex it in, but it'll probably screwup the rest of the drops.

I'd say get as many drops as possible, because that accelerates how often you'll get red rupees... when they all dropped rupees that was perfect (although it looked like some of them would've been faster to pick up by boomarang or skip altogether in the case of the green ones). I wouldn't bother trying to hex in the 1 or 2 extra drops though.

Looks good. Two questions: 1) You skip a magic container once (I think) and you're forced to wait for a while when your magic meter fills up after killing the boss. Something to consider maybe? 2) Have you checked yet if strafing along the wall slows you down compared to walking straight? Not related to the new video, but I'd also like to know how much money you need and when, and in which places you plan on getting it.

Strafing the wall is the exact same speed as running alongside it. Even when you are facing the wall. *nod* I thought of that as I watch my magic meter slowly fill up. >.<; I also noticed I fired nothing once in the boss battle. >.> And I need to collect at least 120 rupees, and I'm going to grab the 2 300 rupee chests in Dark World Kakariko Village. I need 110 rupees for Kiki to get into the 1st palace. I need 10 rupees to temper my sword. I need 500 for the flippers. I need 100 for the Super Bomb. 720.

10:53 is to when, though, specifically? I get the pendant @ 12:00. That would be 1:07 slower. If you mean till the fade out... 12:17 Which would be 1:24 slower. So that's pretty good time made up. Edit: You using save/quits?

I judged it from reentering the overworld. 1:45 And I am, it saved about 20 seconds through the entrance to the first dungeon.

You can stand on the switch in the room 4 rooms before the Eastern Palace boss without killing the green guys, just walk to where the switch is and it'll activate, without you getting hurt. Before getting to the Eastern Palace you can walk into the armos statue that blocks your path, get hurt, and walk through him while flashing from the damage. Saves the time taken to kill him. In the Mountain Tower, turn the switch in the first room of floor 3 blue. This allows you to get through the next room slightly faster. The only downside is you block of the heart pots before Moldorm. Faster route through the forest into Skull Woods, involving less distance and pegasus boots charges. In Skull Woods you can take a shorter route through the room with the holes and the star switches by crossing diagonally across the top right gap after activating the first switch. When you get the Big Key in Turtle Rock, instead of going down afterwards, go up and go back through the room on the left. It may not seem like it, but it saves around 6-8 seconds compared to going to the right room. Pick up a key under a pot in the 2nd downstairs room of Ganon's tower. A 2 second detour that saves you having to kill 2 helmasaurs near the end of the dungeon. Also, if you have spare Silver Arrows, they can kill the Llanmolas in 1 hit each. Kill the ball and chain troopers at the start of the castle tower with arrows, rather than the sword beam, which saves a few seconds. For entering the Desert and leaving, I know that you can dash STRAIGHT LEFT when you enter, then STRAIGHT UP. As for exiting, you can go STRAIGHT DOWN, then STRAIGHT RIGHT. All in dashes.

Upon further analysis I can only conclude that they are both valid spellings, but one has fallen out of favor, as the initial spelling of names and transliterated or invented words tends to be quite flexible before settling on one or two of the most common variants. (E.g. Rachmaninoff/Rachmaninov, Kasimdjanov/Qosimjanov, Mao Tse-tung/Mao Zedong, Al-Qaida/al Qaeda.) I hereby declare all persons that have ever Gannon-banned another to be forever branded super secret double cross-bonded GANON#ANAL.

You can actually hit him once and walk right past him. And I manipulated a Octorok to be right there, so I don't waste time picking up the blue rupee he drops.

No more useless numbers at the end of the filename. Up to the entrance of the 2nd dungeon. Yeah, I know I'm slow at this. But still. Oh, I was mistaken, I didn't fire nothing once in the boss fight, so yey for that. The reason it took me so long was I was testing the Dash Boot's Physics. That and screwing around. ^_^ Time: 13:08

Yay. Here are some random notes for dungeon 2 (not the most important things, just things I think nobody has (bothered to) mention): The lasers from those spinning eye guys knock you *really* far and fast, so check to see if they'll be facing in the right direction around when when you're passing by. When you have to dash into something to knock an item off, you don't have to dash directly into it, a nearby wall for instance still triggers it. When you have to kill an enemy that takes more than 1 sword slash to kill, it's slightly faster to make the finishing blow be a stab (hold attack button, and release and start walking exactly when it does damage) instead of a slash (which makes you wait a few frames extra for the slashing animation to finish before you can start walking). Putting the dash boots on autofire makes Link slide around without moving his feet. (Useless, I know.) EDIT: OMG, nevermind. So that's what you meant by not having to worry about pits. Question: Which emulator version did you use on this last update? Because it's not auto-loading your sync settings so it doesn't seem to be v3 (or I screwed up on something).

I haven't updated to the latest yet on this computer. And try going over a pit with the dash boots on autofire. ^_^ And I'll go from here with stab at end technique, because I've only 4 enemies that took more than one sword swing to kill. So it'll only save me around 16 frames. And I move slow enough as it is.

I was going to say that with the knocking lasers. They take a while to activate though, so it might be hard to implement. Maybe it could be combined with dying to save some time? When are you planning on getting bombs? By the way: I could play this video with 1.43 WIP, without zeldafix, even when reloading savestates to jump around in the movie. Luck?

You can just pick up bombs from any enemy that drops them. You don't have to get them from a chest. I can pick one up as I go through the Tower of Hera (in the pot on 3F). That'll take care of the one I need for the beginning of Crystal One. And they have bombs all over the place in #1. So I'm pretty much set for the rest of the game.

I'll use the levitation glitch, but not the Up+Down ones. And I'm not going to use the Death Mountain Decent either. Reason: Up+Down glitches to be useful in a speedrun require you to go places where you normally can't go, even with all the items. Same with Death Mountain Decent. However, the levitation glitch, although has a few uses that don't require you to go places where you wouldn't be able to go even if you had everything. Seems like splitting hairs. And it probably is.
