Post subject: How you can help get TASVideos $300 USD

I've entered a video contest over at GetRichSlowly, a finance blog that I've been reading for a while. The contest involves making a video about either a financial tip, or a financial success story. I took this opportunity to start to get over my apprehension about appearing on pictures and/or videos, especially online, and made a song and video to go with it. I feel pretty good about my finished video, but I'm doing badly in the "number of views" department, which is being taken into consideration during the judging process. I don't have a website/blog/etc. to ride on to get more views, so it's mostly just been friends that I've sent the link to who watch it. Why should anyone at TASvideos care about my stupid little video, you ask? Well, a winner is to be selected on May 1st by the author of the blog, and the winner receives $500 USD. I want to pledge a donation to TASvideos of $100 USD if I am chosen as the winner. I also will match any donations made between now and May 1st from other members (up to $100 USD), whether I win this contest or not. This means that we could raise up to $300 USD together for TASvideos in the next few weeks!

$100 in your donations;

$100 in contest winning donations.

So I need your help! I need you to check out the video below and share it with people who you think would be interested in it, whether it's actual interest, laughing at how I'm acting in this video, or just wondering what the hell I look like. As a math teacher, I'm going to be recommending my school and my friends play this video as a funny gimmick in any classes with a finance component. The integer rap was already a big hit, and this is waaaay better.

While I can't exactly see why TASVideos needs $100, let alone $300, I will still spread this like the plague. I'm wondering if this could be posted on 4chan in an attempt to meme-erize it. Would negative comments be a problem for you?

I think this is a bad idea, and I'd prefer not to go that route. Plus it seems lame to intentionally try to be a meme. That's something that supposed to happen accidentally - I'm pretty sure that's in the constitution or Bible somewhere. I just checked out the integer rap. That beat is FIYAH son!!

I generally suspect that anyone trying to exploit 4chan, SomethingAwful, etc. for their own ends is going to have things go horribly, horribly wrong. A lot of people post on those boards, and if even one of them figures out that they're being manipulated, they'll get angry in a rather petty and spiteful fashion. And y'know, I'd really rather that TASVideos didn't get DDOS'd...

DUDE this shit is ill as fuck. not only did i really need the financial advice (i wish i was joking), but shit man that beat is so dope. anyways, i shared this video on all my networking sites and posted on a few homies facebooks and shit so hopefully it helps you get a few hits. wouldnt mind seeing three hundo in the TAS bucket for that matter EDIT: i need a few months to establish my own tasvideos bucket before i can actually donate any cash ;

Thanks for spreading this around! I appreciate it. I do like the beat a lot too, though I didn't compose it - it's taken from the song/video I parodied it from (see youtube description for details). Good luck with buckets! It takes a bit of discipline but gives a lot of peace of mind in return.
