Bobby's World is a platformer for the SNES. The character idea was created by Howie Mandel for some reason. Anyways this movie completes the game in less than 10 and a half minutes, taking damage and killing really ugly bosses.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: snes9x-rr 1.51 v6
  • Completes fast as possible
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Cleans a room
  • Eats too many lollipops and gets a cavity
Note: I redid the submission to factor in new improvements I found, including the throwing boost and better health management, I copy and pasted the old submission text because I am too lazy to write a new one :)

Comments

I started this a few weeks ago. This is a really obscure game, and that is why I love it. At the start of every screen I jump to gain maximum speed as quick as possible. You may notice how I sometimes seem like I am avoiding lollipops, this is because sometimes when I land I get a landing lag and get 15 speed instead of 16 (max running speed). Of course I made it so I only get the lag when it is completely unavoidable (happens once).

Stage by stage comments

Space Level

Run, jump, eat, damage, fly, kill, repeat.

Under The Bed

Only notable thing is me grabbing the pipe twice which is unavoidable.

Underwater Level

Hardest part to optimize in the game, I dealt with it with great precision though :)

Cowboy Level

Run, jump, eat, damage, fly, kill, repeat.

Haunted Closet

Whenever I stop and swing on the pole it is needed, unfortunately it looks really slow, but it had to be done :(
Enjoy and make sure to clean your room!
(flowplayer module removed)

FractalFusion: The throw glitch made it a lot more interesting. I'd say the movie is well-done. Accepting for publication.

The game is fairly run-of-the-mill, and the boss fights are unfortunately pretty boring when played this well. However, the throwing glitch is awesome, and it gives you more occasions to show off the variety of weapons between the stages. Because of that glitch, my vote changes from a weak Meh to a weak Yes.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

I enjoyed the show awhile back, but didn't know they made a game for it. It looked well-done, and there was a few nice glitches. Yes vote from me. Archive.org Linky Direct Linky (semi-randomly chosen) Suggested Pic:

For the record, my thoughts on this are the same as for the recently cancelled submission (meh vote).

Going to agree with sgrunt on this one: it's not bad, but it's not overly exciting either. Pretty solid meh.

The throwing glitch was a nice trick. The vertical level around 5 minutes in was an interesting watch. Not a jaw dropper but good enough for a solid yes by me.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

Is it faster to take hits like that in the flying levels? I hate to say it but it makes it look really sloppy. Abstaining until further notice.

Yes, all damage taken in the flying levels was needed to keep moving, believe it or not. Getting hit doesn't waste time either.
