Categories: Platformer Uses death to save time Takes damage to save time
This run is a savings of 8377 over the previous run. This game is a royal pain in the ass. I absolutely regret ever picking it up >< But after picking it up and realizing how bad the current TAS was I couldn't not do the run. My first wip made it through level 3 before I figured out the bunny hopping trick and had to restart the entire run. 31500 rerecords on such a simple game is because of how unfriendly this game is for TASing. I can't express how happy I am to never have to play this game ever ever ever again.
Level 1 (Frames Saved: 814): Most of the frames saved here were from just optimization of the level. I also saved some frames by buying 1 less rocket from the shop and getting 2 coins without spending any frames. The coins to be used in level 3.
Level 2 (Frames Saved: 1068): Here is mostly the same story as level 1, just a bunch of optimizations and a better choice in which hats to get.
Level 3 (Frames Saved: 1533): I saved a massive amount of frames by doing 3 less mini-games and just obtaining all the necassary balloons while on the way to the end of the level. Also from not going over the ferris wheel but going under.
Level 4(Frames Saved: 1300): I saved a lot of frames here by better choice of exit signs and by skipping the majority of the crocadile pond.
Level 5(Frames Saved: 3662): Most of the frames saved on this level was because I manipulated Marge to be on screen to take away my radioactive rods. She's much quicker than Bart at taking them down to the basement. I also saved many frames by using death as a shortcut in 2 locations.

Yes vote. This game tortured me as a kid. A few moments of playing, after I had watched your run, reminded me of how horribly painful the control system is. You made it look easy.

I have an old WIP of this game, I've been thinking about finishing it, but I have several other projects I want to finish first. I'm glad someone else picked it up, this game is fun, but a bit tedious to TAS. Anyway, it's possible to skip the text before jumping on the skate board, saving a lot of time. My level 1 is 236 frames faster than yours, mostly (perhaps solely, I haven't compared the rest) because of this. I'm kind of in a hurry right now, so I'll just upload my WIP here without any detailed comparison. Hopefully it will help out.

Yea, I can't tell you how many ways I tried doing that. I knew there had to be some way to skip that damn text. Well, if someone wants to redo the game and save that, I know it'll probably help with some of the crappy randomness I had on level 2 (couldn't get the right manipulations in a decent amount of time). But personally, I abhor this game after TASing it. This is honestly the most frustrating game to TAS I've ever done. I've dubbed it, the anti-TAS.

this is a great tas but I can't help but watch and remember how when I was young i had convinced myself it was a really good game because of the simpsons license. god, what a terrible game.

I've just watched this now, and this truly deserves a yes vote. I noticed some more minor improvements on level 2, but they're nothing big. Great job, and I really don't blame for not redoing this (the skate board trick could be a carrot for the next person who tries to TAS this).

While everything I know about this game comes from the AVGN, this did look very nice. Yes vote here.

If you hate this game so much, then I presume you don't want to try out Simpsons: Bart vs. The World... ;-) The control scheme in that game is pretty similar, though there is more platforming and fewer random objectives. Anyway, this looks nice. I'm surprised you couldn't die more times in the last level to save time, but this looks a lot better with more visits by Marge. Also, good playaround while waiting for the disappearing blocks in Stage 4.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. I never finished this game, let alone finish the first lvl! I give this a yes because it makes the game looks so easy!

For this bunny-hopping trick, was this a glitch, a technique, or both? I'll wait for a pre-encode before I vote.

Voted yes, because now there's less of this bad game to watch. This also looks really speedy and is actually quite entertaining. Nice work Deigny.

I hated this game as a kid. It was IMPOSSIBLE! If it gets faster, yea! This game is one that deserves abuse. Lots of abuse.

Because if the currently published run were not published, I would have a case to vote no for this one for being a bad game.
