The first TSA short that I'll be posting here, but it's not the first TSA I've done (granted, they weren't so good). I've decided to play the most recent Super Mario World hack, which was Super Mario World 3. It had a 4.7 rating, but the game doesn't even seem too bad so far. So, I started with the Yoshi Isle 1. I'll be getting to Yoshi Isle 2 and 3, eventually. =3 Video Although, there is only one part that I can see some improvement, but it's just that I don't know how to get through the part faster. It's where I keep jumping out the water, at 0:25. I went for the ingame time for now. So, not too shabby? =/
This be your first timing seeing me, yes? Don't expect me to be the Uber TASer, because I'm not. =/

Can you post the key-input file via DeHackEd's MicroStorage script? That's what serious TASers will want to see to help you out.

Can I ask how? Because the only dump for the ZSNES that I know of is the AVI, and I really don't know how to make it a FCM/FM2, SMV, VBM, M64, MMV, GMV or DSM file, so I can't post it, and I really don't know what's a key-input file. Sorry, I'm still new to the TAS. =C

A serious TAS for a derivative of Super Mario World requires tools that ZSNES don't have yet; specifically, watching values in RAM, displaying input, and a few other things. Give a look to SNES9X v1.43+ v17. EDIT: Didn't see that you asked what a key-input file was. It's a file that records what keys were pressed at what frames; when dumping, it's what the emulator plays back to dump. For ZSNES, they're called ZMVs.

You have potential. Take a look at the Super Mario World Tricks page to see how you can improve yourself. The hopping glitch and oscillation abuse are must-haves in serious TAS's.

I didn't try, but I would guess that you don't need to take damage from the hammer bros. Maybe I'll attempt it Friday.

The straightforward and probably faster solution would be to do a midair shell jump under the gray pipe. This could probably be done with minimal delay to collect a shell. Otherwise, you could take a yoshi, or an invisible yoshi, and jump off of it while under the gray pipe. Any of these should be able to get you through without touching water.

The invisible Yoshi? Never have I heard or seen (at least being riding :P) an Invisible Yoshi in my life. Right away, I know that is a glitch, but how do you do so?
