I'm currently working on the 102% run, but I'm having some serious trouble to log into the forum, so I'll not be able to post wips so often. I'm doing Gangplank Galley at the moment, but since I'm playing in hard mode, I guess I can't compare time stage by stage. When I manage to fix my problem that I guess is related with my IP address, I'll post a wip. (I'm using a web proxy to post this)

If you're using hard mode, then castle crush is going to be slower since you're going to have to turn into rambi like my old run rather than hold the DK barrel like in the current run. even if you can't post WIPs here, make sure you PM NxCy and I your work so we can constantly check it.

Thankyou Comicalflop, I'm using a web proxy with less pop-ups this time and I guess I can post wips without too much trouble, but if I can't, I'll PM you. I'm doing Topsail Trouble at the moment, but I have to ask you something before I continue: I'm testing many things to complete the bonus here, but in many cases your solution is the fastest one, so would you mind if I reuse your strategies to complete the bonus rounds? (not your input, I mean, just your way to complete it)

The Microstorage is working fine here, the problem is that every time I try to log into the forum I receive this message: You have been banned from this forum. Please contact the webmaster or board administrator for more information. I can log in with a web proxy though, so I guess I can post wips this way. /sorry if this looks confuse, but the previous web proxy I was using gave me many errors when I tried to post something here.

Dixie did very well in Topsail Trouble, but Krow is really mad at her... This is my luck when I finish Topsail Trouble as Dixie: If I skip Funky Kong, there's two useless eggs untill a good egg drops. If I enter Funky Kong there's twelve useless eggs, no matter what. So, I'm redoing Topsail Trouble to see if I can have a better luck.

Looks great so far! How much faster is the new route for Kannon's Klaim?

I guess it's ~100 frames faster, but I'm trying not to compare it stage by stage, there will be some slower stages up ahead, so it's better to compare the final time. /by the way, I'm not sure if I want to obsolete anyone elses run, if there's a way to put it in a separate category, it would be nice.

I don't think it's worth having a separate category for hard mode. The only real difference is a small change in Kong management; not a big deal. Hard mode will either end up faster or it won't. If it does, go with it and be happy that you saved some time making that choice. Why don't you want to obsolete the current run?

You're right, there's no need to be sad about a run being obsoleted, after all that's one of our objectives here. so, if I want to obsolete something, I must indeed compare and try to beat the current time in every stage. I just finished Lava Lagoon, and I'm 893 frames ahead. /and about Kannon's Klaim, it's just 83 frames faster. //just one more thing, I'll post wips after each boss fight from here on. ///Red-Hot Ride is done, 974 frames ahead due to slightly improved bonus stages. ////Squawks's Shaft is giving me a really hard time, it will take longer than I expect to finish Crocodile Cauldron...

I'm still fighting with Kleever, but Krow's fight was redone, so here's a new wip, before Kleever 1k+ frames ahead.

Remember, hard mode in Castle Crush = no barrel = no new glitch, and no doing the stage 102% without Rambi to start. I think I calculated the time saved from using hard mode to be obsoleted by the time wasted from getting Rambi normally. My laptop is still out of commission, so still can't view the WIPs, but as soon as that's all fixed I will give the WIP a viewing and give my suggestions.

Yeah, Castle Crush will be slower than in normal mode, but not so much.(at least, I hope so...) but I'm still far away from Castle Crush, so here's a new wip, 1861 frames ahead before Hornet Hole. /Castle Crush will be ~237 frames slower in hard mode, but I'll save 232 frames from 8 DK barrels that I don't need to break. //by the way, I don't know how the new glitch (bring the target down) can save time in the 102% run.

Well, when NxCy and I did the 102%, we thought of the possibility of finishing the stage first like in Arne's any%, then going back and start+select after finishing the 2nd bonus. I think the time difference was just enough that we decided to do it normally. But considering the new method is 24 seconds, it could be that complete the stage the new any% way, go back and get the rambi bonus, then get the other bonus and start+select inside the bonus may be faster. I'm not sure.

Is a majority of the savings that you have made due to the not breaking of DK barrels, and other stuff that would NOT be in a hard mode run?

No, not breaking DK barrels will kinda compensate Castle Crush loss, but that's not all, I can sacrifice more kongs in hard mode, see Bramble Blast for example. (here)

I'll test it right away...

Man, I need to say this: Great job! Nice improvements for a already very optimized run. That Jungle Jinx glitch in goal target was very unexpected, like the golden mouse also. And some improvements are in intelligent ways, like in Bramble Blast. And that's the most entertaining Kudgel's battle ever, in my opinion.

Thanks alot Marcos, the level of optimization in the current published run is really insane! some stages can't be improved in any way, unless a new trick is found. /speaking of difficult to optimize, Hornet Hole was giving me nightmares, but I'm almost done with this stage, there's just one bonus to do. I managed to save some time here entering a bonus stage without Squitter and cartwheeling close to the ceiling near the goal target, the rest is simply impossible to improve, given the level of optimization... //Since Target Terror is kinda auto scroller, it's useless to try any improvements here, so, it will be exactly the same, except that I've collected all KONG letters and lost 2 frames... I'm now 1955 frames ahead, heading to Bramble Scramble.
