• FCEU 0.98.15
  • Aims for fastest time
  • abuses programming errors
  • takes damage to save time
  • manipulates luck
this run is 1565 frames faster then my last submission. almost every level is some frames faster.
biggest improvments:
  • level 1-1, saves about 370 frames on shortcut (thanks hero of the day).
  • level 2-1, saves about 340 frames on shortcut.
  • level 4-2, saves about 375 frames by not taking the drill and jump through walls.

adelikat: Nice use of bugs. Accepting for publication.

Great run! Looks much better now. One question though: You bump twice into a leaf on the roof. Why not just destroy it? Does it have something to do with the timing of the leaf that you use to get over the next gap?

macK proves once and for all that persistence is a virtue. If this isn't the one that finally gets accepted, I'll be surprised. And what TAS would be complete without some trick that appears completely inhumanly possible (the jumping through walls, which is in 4-2, not 4-1 as the comments originally state - I think the sound I'm hearing during the instances going through the wall is the sound of 30 jumps a second)? I didn't follow the trick discussion topic, so I will ask - what's with some of the random marble throws? Is that some special jump trick? Regardless, voting yes as I have done twice already.

This run has so many nice sequence breaks and insane tricks (jumping through the wall was awesome!!). I am going to vote yes once again. Well done mack.

Some of the levels are just boring to look at, while others are neat, like the bathroom, or the level walking by the NES :) The music is always horrible - it's got the instruments from Treasure Master, but it throws that into the gutter by constantly changing tempos and "instruments"...bleh. There is some stuff that makes this run cool, but overall I can't get past the game. My vote is meh.

This is the first version I feel i can vote Yes for. Nice improvements, and some unexpected tricks. Was I just imagining, or did you shoot in the air and jump a tiny bit longer? And being hit by the leaf twice on the outdoor level, what is the meaning of that?

one of the biggest problem with this game is the level ending sekvenses is a bit random, thats why i bounce the leaf, i think only lost 3 frames on it. couldnt do anything at the some problem after beating tom the third time, there i lost 13 frames :(

yes, doing anything while jumping lets u make a extreme mirco jump.

This is a good example of how research & optimization can make a bad game entertaining. This first submission bored me. This one kept me entertained. I vote yes and will be accepting for publication.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects
