I see. If it's too much for you, maybe someone in the competition can do compilation videos for you. Normally I could do them, but encoding such long videos on this laptop (currently all I have) is too much for it.

i ended up not being able to finish it tonight, (although i got the avi's for all the videos). i dont have school friday which means i dont have to work on homework tomorrow, so i should be able to get everything updated. list of what i have to do 1)compilation video for task 2 2)results and compilation video for task 3 3)decide on a task for task 4 (i have 5 games i am choosing from, it is genesis and there is a 80% chance it will be 2 player and require the multi-track) by the way raijinxblade nice job with the mm2 race =) i got to the first wily level and got stuck. pretty good imo considering i had never touched mega man 2 (except the demo for the ****** iphone version which doesnt count)

I didn't participate in task 2 because I didn't know Klonoa and I didn't have the interest to TAS it. I'm more interested in the tasks as individual competitions rather than the high score for all the tasks combined. I'm not a fan of genesis but I will see. I don't have a problem to TAS 2 player without multitrack.

Thanks Thundrio. You guys did good. I admit I was horrible though compared to my better runs of MM2 I did in the past. Anyways, I don't even know what multitrack is or how to use it. If it's related to assisting 2P runs then I don't know since I never TAS'd 2P gameplay before. But like I said, I'll try at least. An explanation of multitrack would be nice though.

You know, this may be the reason that multitrack runs really haven't picked up steam. (not the online network, the verbal expression). Anyway, multitrack stands for doing multiple tracks of recording, sort of like a midi file. You generate each of the instruments musical tracks separately, and then play them together to get music. Multitrack works by recording each player (in a multiplayer game) individually for a section (defined by the TASer), and then the script plays back the actions of that player while the TASer records another. Finally, once all players are recorded in the script, it is played back simultaneously, and set in the movie file. I think adelikat's Ustream has a recording of him creating level 2 of the Simpsons TAS we did. Also, I will be recording some of Turtles in Time soon in the future. These are good examples of how multitrack works.

Oh... I think I get it. Ok then, I'll give it a shot. This'll be a new experience.

How's progress? I'm quite curious how that last challenge came out! And of course about what the next one will be

hopefully i will get everything updated wednesday, if i get my hw done early enough. i am making progress in the videos as movie maker suddenly started wanting to work. but i am holding off my genesis challenge in favor of a less complicated one, as my genesis one will take a while to come up with the challenge. =)

Ahhh, damage boosting, and picking up/throwing the bomb thing to cause its countdown to lower faster, didn't even think to try either, good job guys! Grats to Aglar for winning that one, taking the three jewels at the beginning and throwing the box at the end to not lose frames double jumping were clever. The next challenge looks interesting, very open ended, probably a lot of very different looking entries coming.

May I suggest, that every new challenge would be posted in its own separate post, because it's really hard to follow what the heck is going on here.

Some nice things you did there, Aglar, that I missed. Such as throwing the block at the end instead of jumping with it, stupid me... Congrats! And lol to my amount of rerecords compared to the others, heh.

This. In particular, the rules of the first 3 challenges are gone; us casual observers no longer know what they were trying to do!

Compilation video for task 2 here. Enjoy.

One question about the current task. Do we have to do the things in order?

the only thing that has to be done in order is number 5, since that needs to be done at the end. also i am working on a solution to get all the challenges displayed at once.

I'm sorry, but I'll not join in for this task. I'm focusing all my TAS time to finish my DKC run. I might have time to work on this once I'm done, but we'll see.

My guess is yes. I asked him about this last month and he said there was another task to come... But cmon man, its been at least a complete month and then some since that time and not a single word from him about this. Idk man, I say we let someone else host this... Or something (not to sound like a dick or anything)

Yeah, he hasn't updated the first post in a long time - he still hasn't added my task 2 compilation video, for instance.
