We have saved over a second in MC1, and were trying to hex it in ASAP. However, the editor im using refuses to edit anything so this may take a while.

If you are on Windows, or have a VM with Windows on it, I recommend the TAS Movie Editor. Requires .NET, but it is very good.

I did a workaround to the edit problem, and I managed to hex in the entire capsule sequence. The boss needed a redo though due to the stalagtites. It sure kicks a lot more ass now! I'll wait for FuzZerd to post a WIP when were done with Oil Ocean, but you guys will be in for a suprise. ;)

For Oil Ocean I dunno if this was in the previous TAS or even mentioned anywhere but I recommend trying to finish act 1 under the stage. Jump off to the right once the bonus countdown starts so you don't lose control and die.

I'm 90% sure that was in the previous TAS.

If you die after a certain amount of time after the stage ends, it wont take away a life.

Although the jump also influences the time, I propose that while running in the oil, give a jump minimum, ie press the button 'A' in 1 frame or 2 frames. This can be done easily with the deceleration to 3%.

I'm not sure exactly how much time we saved over sonikkuster's last WiP. but we're now more then 2 seconds faster then nitsujas published video on MC1. I also saved a few frames (about 8 iirc) over sonikkuster's MC2, making us 26 frames ahead of nitsuja there! (unfortunately still not an improvement to the visible timer :() We also finished oil ocean zone, over a second ahead of nitsuja on OO1 and nearly a second on OO2! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/122445710/S2.gmv

Nice work. There is a possible improvement for the current version of Oil Ocean 1 which should give around a second, possibly more. I spliced the improvement into your movie (starting at frame 36749); it is here. The important bit is the amount of speed gained in the pipes; there is possibly more to be gained after it.

Thank you for the encode, mmarks. That was impressive. I like what you did with Tails at the end of the first act of Aquatic Ruin Zone. :D I recommend you doing something like this at the end of the third act of Metropolis Zone, because it looks really cool.

Nice find! I did some work last night and managed to get 300 more speed than you. However this will only save a bit less than a second. Currently, FuzZerd is trying to splice it into the run.

Just watched the WIP on YouTube and I can't wait to see the finished product. Chemical Plant Zone was just awesome. Me and my cousin used to do the glitch at the end of Aquatic Ruin Zone that we called hovering Sonic and a wave of nostalgia hit when I saw it in the WIP. Keep up the great work and good luck :D.

I know a glitch in Oil Ocean Zone 2. But I'm not sure this can improve something. Look. Link to video The trouble is that when using a SpinDash, the effect ends.

Nicely done; this run is getting more and more awesome! It will be an easy yes vote when it hits the Workbench.

Hey guys, I have a question. Accept a TAS competition of Sonic 2?

Competition as in 2-player mode done for a playaround, or as in a video quiz of some kind?
