Syvalion is a unique shooter game where you control a metal dragon. It does not autoscroll. The stories, stages, and endings are random with each play.

Emulator details

  • Recorded on snes9x-1.51-rerecording-svn92
  • Use WIP Timing - on
  • Left+Right/Up+Down - off
  • Volume Envelope Height Reading - off
  • Fake Mute desync workaround - on
  • Sync samples with sound CPU - on

Game objectives

  • Aims for fastest time
  • Manipulates luck
  • Takes no damage

About the run

I used Japanese version because the game was only released in Japan and Europe. Since I chose a no-damage run, I had to wait for traps blocking my way to move, or manipulate luck in some places not to generate enemies in a bad place.
The game has both good endings and bad ones, and the ending I get to will be randomly chosen. I managed to get to a good ending. The text is in Japanese and it is messed up due to emulator’s glitch, though.

Thanks for the YouTube, Ryuto! This was a pretty interesting watch. It makes me think of Nibbler (or whatever name you know for the game with the growing snake that eats pellets) or of Snake Rattle 'n Roll. The boss fights were especially cool. Yes vote.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. I knew there was an arcade version, but I'm not sure I was aware of this version until now. Definitely a nice run and a Yes vote!

Autoscroll or not, it is a space shooting game.

Are you still working on this? If not, I'll gladly claim this for encoding / publication.

Interesting game! Could the boss be beaten faster at 4:30 by making the homing spreadshot hit as fast as possible? Since it reshoots once all its projectiles are off screen.

From what I recall, this game is hellishly difficult. You may not have made it look easy, but you did make it look reasonable, which is certainly not the case. Nice work, Ryuto!

It might be faster, but I had to give priority to another thing over making the homing spreadshot hit as fast as possible. As the run aims to be no-damage, I searched and stayed a good place where I won't be hit by the boss.
