It appears to finally have an actual release date of May 3rd this year Link to video As most of you well know its been 12 years in the making. Obviously they were really taking there time and making sure it was just right before releasing it. Actually, the thing that worries me is what happened to Heart of Darkness . It was 5 years overdue and ended up being a really dated when it came out. Needless to say it sold relatively well when it was eventually released. I expect DNF to sell well based on that fact.

Nice to see the Oracle was correct.

I wouldn't get too hyped up just because it was so long in the making. Chances are they had to start almost from scratch for several times and/or that the development consisted of very few people at most times. But I hope it'll turn out good. ^^ Edit:

Looks cool. I like the swine aliens, they look even cooler here than in the old game. I would have always liked to play the original back then but I didn't have a computer. It was pretty revolutionary back then because it takes place in a modern city, and you could do a bunch of interactive things. Nowadays there have come many such games though, like Half Life 2. The graphics don't seem to be too insane, which is good, so maybe I can play it on my current computer.

At work, we say: "Good things come to those who wait()". I say: "Good things come to those who waitpid()".

I still don't believe it will come out, no matter how many proof we have that it will.

A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Well yeah. 3D Realms spent 12 years on this then dropped to Gearbox Software. After 9 months they will eventually release the game. This isn't the first time for video games delayed for so long.

Crap, this game is badly outdated. After 5 - 6 hours, I get the feeling that it's a half-assed, half-finished product which finally just had to be released. Admittedly, I've been chucking at some of the horrible, horrible jokes, but the gameplay itself is... horrible beyond belief. Furthermore, it's not the most good-looking game this year, actually far from, and the loading times are awful. And the amusing part is that it is just as average as we all expected it to be. Also I doubt that the story will grow the more you play it, as the plot really is just a mish-mash of badly connected dots.

Meh, it's a new Duke game. Besides, I don't think I can get my $90 back from Gamestop with only four days til release.

The game feels pretty average to me. I don't understand why they thought it would be a good idea to only allow you to have 2 weapons at a time as well as that sprint function and the controls for mini Duke when he's driving the RC is really bad. Strangely, I actually enjoy reading posters and doing the puzzle solving sections more than the shooting. One annoying thing I've found when I play the game is sometimes I randomly fire for no reason. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this or if its a bug in the game. I'll give my full take on the game once I've completed it.

Hm...maybe I can take my Receipt back to Gamestop and get them to give me back the $90 as In Store Credit.. I mean, if the game is really this bad, I don't wanna blow $90 on it. besides, if I can get my Money back, I'll be $148 toward a 3DS already. Three weeks ahead of schedule.

Never thought I'd say this but... QFT. Reading posters and laughing at all the jokes is the best part of the game. Like the joke about the actual delay in the beginning, that was hilarious, and the microwave oven going NUKEM whenever you run it. Overall, just meh.

I still laugh at the jokes in Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition. Personally, I just got my money back for DNF. I now have nearly $100 In Store Credit at gamestop, plus an extra $53 in cash toward a 3DS. I'll get more use out of a 3DS than I will out of a $95.39 game, anyway.

Please tell us more about the $153 you're going to spend on a 3DS. If I understood the last three of your posts in this thread right, you took your copy of DNF back to Gamestop and asked for your $90 back, which you then received. Is this correct?

Luls. I'm just trollin'. But yea, I did take it back to get my money back. I rarely ever troll, aside from when it comes to Super Paper Mario.

May I ask for your posts to have somewhat more essence than expressing a perfectly mundane intention (which by itself is fine, of course) across three separate messages in a row? I know you like talking and all, but repeating yourself over and over is not the proper way to conduct communication. We understood you the first time just fine.

Yes, yes. I know. I tend to repeat myself a lot for some reason. Not exactly sure why that is.

It's because you're a woman. That should win me the Nobel Peace Prize.

In an unrelated note, I'm watching this Long Play of a game called Arkista's Ring. Looks like it could make an interesting TAS with the right manipulation. Might bring it up in the NES Section later.

*whacks Cardboard upside the head with a giant iron dildo* Let's not drag our gender's reputation through any more mud, now, eh? :3 But yeah, Joystiq gave DNF a 2 out of 5, lol. Seems like the crude humor's the only redeeming factor the game's got going for it, if you can even call it redeeming (which you probably can't). :p
