About

  • Take damage to save time
  • Fastest all clear
  • Manipulate enemies's appearence
  • Hardest difficulty

Glitch

1.There is a trick to manipulate enemies' appearence. I use it in some situation just like mission 1 s big helecorp and mission 2 small helecorp. It's not suitable for all enemies, only a few of them may disappear.
2.In Mission 5,in the air, hold left and up,enemies cannot show, but it is not useful in this movie.

Tactics

In mission 1 get S.CLIP to make mission 4 and 5 boss battle faster. Mission 3 double bombs and metal slug's H gun. Level 4 bomb's power up for the last battle. Each stage's card could be used after mission completed.

Summary

Mission 1

Making the hele disappeared, and using S to beat the boss, using a trick to control the direction of Metal Slug's shoot.

Mission 2

Manipulate the small hele's disappearence.Using Metal Slug to kill the boss. The L cannot follow the boss's movement,so using Metal Slug is right.

Mission 3

Get cards for mission 4 & 5 and hitting the dropping enemies as the mechine gun of metal slug turning. Controls the item to fight with the boss.

Mission 4

Manipulating enemies's apprearence to take damage for jumping up. Getting a power up card for mission 5.

Mission 5

Get Shortgun and metal slug to fight with boss.
This is the 1st Edition. So maybe some tactics goes wrong,I submit it for showing a run that using this tactics. And I'm doing some experiment in this game.

Thanks to

Klmz's game introduction Mtvf1's comparation. Angerfist and Highness's support
Finally I complete this version and still want to improve it.

feos: Added YouTube module. Update: fixed the encode.

DarkKobold: Claimed.

DarkKobold: Mission Complete! However, I'm sure this isn't the final mission we will see from X2poet. Good work, accepting.

Brandon: Publication underway.

Processing HD encode.

Thanks for the encode, feos. The run looked pretty solid, though I feel like the game itself doesn't have a lot of the little touches that the arcade games had. Nothing to be done about that of course. Nice work, x2poet! It would be nice if you could explain what the items you detoured to pick up do. That would help us understand why getting them is helpful.

Good job, x2poet! The run looked fast (especially the boss battles). This game's been on the List of Ideas for a while, and I'm glad it's finally been done. Yes vote.

Hmm, i think you could have saved a bit of time if you wouldn't pick that Grenade Bombs in Mission 4, since you finished the boss with 2 Shotgun Shots and 7 Grenades, those Shotgun Shots would do enough damage to kill it. Anyways, this deserve a yes vote.

No,it's not enough,Rolanmen1. By getting a double bombs card in MISSION 3,getting a bomb in MISSION 4 that means add 20 bombs but not 10.
Do the work.

This is pretty much exactly what I wanted to say. A Metal Slug game doesn't feel the same when you don't get to fight Mr. "See you in Hell". Also, it's strange that you can take damage in this game, though I liked the damage boosts you used. Good job!
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Throwing another yes vote on the pile

The aspect ratio of that encode seems really wrong for GBA. The video is squished horizontally.

If this run gets accpeted and published, the tag "uses hardest difficulty" will need to be added. Also, Yes vote.

I would like to see a 100% run, eventually. This game is good.

I have considered about it,but 100% run is repetitive. All of the mission must complete twice. The last mission will complete three times. All of the cards cannot get except that the boss die. Anyway,999 kills is the hardest card to get.
Do the work.

Anybody have a good screenshot for this? I'll publish this as soon as possible, but I'm asking you all to please be patient considering that I am sick.
All the best, Brandon Evans
