A wild TAS appears.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: Gens 11b
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Manipulates luck
  • Best Genesis movie 2011

Comments

Aq Renkan Awa is an unlicensed quiz game with some puzzle/action minigames thrown in. This TAS aims to complete the hardest game mode in the fastest time. One obligatory minigame is played, which was manipulated to be the Space Invaders clone, because it was fast.

Enjoy!

FractalFusion: Claimed, so that no one else does.
Flygon: FractalFusion is enough of a biasman to reject this, but I am enough of a Puggsy ripoff to put a YouTube module in here.
FractalFusion: The game's real name is 阿Q連環泡 (A Q Lián Huán Pào). Thus changing as such. Also added branch, since the run only uses one of the branches.
FractalFusion: The game is a quiz game, where only a trivial amount of TAS work is required to select the right answer. There's a small section with a Space Invaders clone, but that doesn't make up for the lack of technical merit.
I'm rejecting the run.

adelikat: This movie was unrejected for reconsideration for publication to the Vault. However, the rejection reason here was lack of technical merit. This combined with it being a game show (which as of this writing is not vault eligible) means that the original rejection should stand.

"Best Genesis movie 2011" What's this? I think the best is Sonic 2 at present.

Aqfaq, you never cease to amaze me.

This TAS is like a practical joke on the viewer. The punchline is the time I wasted watching it. As someone who likes irony I can appreciate what you've done here, but I assume you do not seriously believe this should be published. If you do, my head hurts and I need to lie down. In other words, no vote for poor and uninteresting choice of title, due to the lack of any real action, obscurity of the game, and because it's just not interesting in any way to watch, for anybody, ever, unless they drink Pabst Blue Ribbon, wear plaid shirts, and read Proust.

LOL I hope this was a 2-month late April Fool's joke. Even if this was in English, it would not be an appropriate TAS, just as any quiz-based game would not be appropriate. The ONLY entertaining part was the 5 seconds of the space invaders clone. Make a TAS of nothing but THAT! I'm sure you worked very hard, but I'm sorry to say to say this TAS is not for this site.

Nor I, I really don't even know how to vote here... But nevertheless, after thinking about it, I find it massively repetitive, and flat out boring, No vote.

This is pretty well the definition of meaningless repetition and boredom. There's basically no technical merit to playing through this game as fast as possible, and no entertainment for the viewer. I agree with a prior comment that this feels like it was submitted two months too late. Voting no.

Aqfaq isn't exactly a newbie. I suspect there's some clever prank going on here that's just sailing over our heads.

I couldn't watch the whole movie. Every stage was another boring quiz with three correctly answered questions. And it doesn't help that the game is unlicensed. No vote.

Wow, this is amazing, your TAS skills are remarkable, even more than your last attempt, and you could gain Best Genesis Movie 2011, ... ... but instead, I voted No =P bad game choice/too little entertainment/no heavy glitch abuse/no 4 players at once (how faster would it be!) But don't be harsh on yourself if you receive a lot of No around here, .. at least you got your graduation in Mandarin Tradicional ^^ China, now with space invaders ... and with lasers.

Top 5 reasons why this should be published: 1) It's the first of its kind (a game in Chinese). Firsts of their kind are always good publication material. 2) There are more people (and hence more potential viewers) in China than in your country. (Unless you are Chinese, in which case there are as many people in China as in your country.) 3) The main character is a stereotype. Stereotypes are always fun. 4) TASes of quiz shows have always been well received. Heck, many have even got awards. It's probably the game genre with the highest amount of awards per publication, by a large margin. 5) The music rulez.

I always try to look on the brighter side of TAS. But there is just nothing there. I've watched it 4 times already and I haven't found anything to hang a yes vote on. What don't I get?

Agreed! They're mostly Joplin rags. Select a game: Magnetic Rag (one of my favorites!) Select a character: Peachrine Rag Hallway: Maple Leaf Rag (I can even play it!) Quiz: Elite Syncopations I also downloaded the ROM and found these other rags: Game 1 overworld: Palm Leaf Rag Game 1 quiz: The Easy Winners Game 4 title: Solace (played unreasonably fast) Game 4: The Chrysanthemum

Hahaha... Aqfaq, I see your taste in short and bad games is still quite alive! As much as I liked the guy's gigantic head when he solves questions correctly, and although the minigame was cool, this predictably receives a No vote. Nice choice though. Also, for those of you who haven't seen Aqfaq's previous "short and bad games" submissions, I recommend watching this and this.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run.
