iirc you need to talk to the pink bob-omb to switch mario's direction from moving backwards to moving forwards. (so you can wall kick etc)

Now that's much better. (For the BitFS tas). My logic says a glitchy wall kick after the last red coin should not be possible, but if it is it could definitely save time (because I've lost all hope with sm64 logic as there doesn't seem to be any lol)

It's good to know that the second half of the strat is limited by the elevator. That means that most likely, the beginning is maxed out.

Since you take the time to enable the cannon, do you think you can make use of it for some other star? I know the cannons are usually avoided because you "waste" time talking to the pink bob-ombs, but since in this case you have to do it anyway I wonder if some other star can get a new faster route with the cannon. If this even makes sense.

Alaktorn, you should be more clear next time with your posts. It's extremely hard for any logical being to believe you were indeed referring to that (second) elevator when later on you talk about whether it's possible to glitch through the platform while WK up which happens in the first elevator. It gives us the feeling that you're lying when you're saying "I was referring to that elevator"...which feeling I (personally) wouldn't perceive as incorrect as the logical being I am...(/we are).

Perhaps there may be some way to keep momentum by wall kicking off the pillars near the first elevator (above the cage). Edit: Disregard this post. I just tested it and it won't work =/

For BITFS, could you somehow use the Bob-Omb BLJ on the third tier and get the red coins quicker? I will provide an example .m64 if no one knows what I'm talking about.

by the way, a question… is it impossible to BLJ on those slopes that are used to gain speed? (start of game, start of Bob-omb Battlefield, start of that icy world…) and if so why?

Yes, it's impossible. They make Mario go into a sliding animation; a butt slide if facing downward, and a belly slide if facing upward.
