You people should play this on a real NES so you can submit it to TG and try to claim the $25 bounty. http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=73&id=991

Well, I didn't feel like doing homework tonight, so here's my latest attempt, 28:09: http://www.geocities.com/ryan_ferneau/megasped.zip It could've been 27 something if I hadn't died to Dr. Wily at the end... Grumble... I need to work on the pause trick some more.

Amusing. You even found your place for the ladder trick :) But don't be scared of the special weapons :) They are good for you. Guess that would require some calmness that only comes from practice, though.

Yeah, I could afford to plan the special weapons a little better. I'm a little slow on the weapon menu, too.

Well.. doing this would cause me to want to buy the rest of them.. I already have 2-3-4 baught but, i cant seem to find an auction for megaman 1 without it being the complete set. if i could, i would buy it, and then get out the video camera, and try and try until i broke 27 minutes. my record now is 27:20.

Heh, I actually meant to buy the first Mega Man before I switched to Mega Man 3. But this game is getting too frustrating now, so I think I really will wait until this weekend to try again.

Hm, okay... here is my attempt for fame. I played okay until Iceman, but then I sucked with the magnet beam and gave up. I think that when I'm holding fire to charge the beam and jump, I press forward, and that breaks the two-button rule my computer has imposed. After that it goes downhill... http://133an.sytes.net/~truncated/Rockmantruncated.fcm

TG settings banned just about every trick in the game, so no abusing select or ladder and wall tricks. Since this competition allows glitches, I will also try a run.

By not using rerecords do u mean savestates or what? Are savestates allowed or not? Or should I just play the game normal without any emulator tricks?

No slowdowns, no savestates. (Or you can _save_ all you wish but just don't _load_.)

I hate the fact that this organisation (Twin Galaxies), because it's officially recognised, decides that they have the authority to tell US how to play OUR GAMES. Screw them. This is much better than their way of playing. EDIT: I'd like to add that I really don't see why they would limit us--when you buy a commercial game, you buy a cartridge with data. Why would you discriminate the data that you get? It's possible to use those glitches with the product you buy, so they shouldn't meddle with the possibilities.

Can we pause the game to take a break? The emulator lets you pause, too.

I will if I ever figure out how to beat the Yellow Devil without cheating. I've only been able to do it once or twice ever.

Well, in all my speedrun attempts today, I've been able to avoid all his segments perfectly. I used the pause trick, though, since I wanted to speed it up. But I don't think it would be too hard to dodge him six or seven times.

I've still to break the 30 minutes mark. I'm going there, though... slowly!

OFF TOPIC: I want to do the same with Final Fantasy. Remaining ones: Final Fantasy Tactics PSX Final Fantasy CC (I don't own a Game Cube)

FF MSX, FF2 MSX, FF Wonderswan, FF2 Wonderswan, FF4 Wonderswan, FF1+2, FFEZ, FF2 FOMA, 1-2 PSX, 4-6 PSX, FF7: BC/CC/DC, and of course this is by no means an exhaustive list of obscure titles and only includes titles with "Final Fantasy" in the name. In other words, I am again challenging your claim.
