Well.. the glitch wouldn't help your movie since you can use the ledge glitch. but this would have helped Morimoto's. In the fireman level. Theres one spot where you can fall into a hole and glitch it up intop the top of the screen of the next picture in the cealing and shoot out of the other side. but you already do that.. but at the top of it using the ledge.Heres a picture? .. well.. i have to load it up onto a site i think.. so ill do that andpost it up A>S>A>P

You mean this? https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/rockmantest3.mpg I just explained this to BagOfMagicFood earlier today.

OFF TOPIC: I want to do the same with Final Fantasy. Remaining ones:
FF MSX, FF2 MSX, FF Wonderswan, FF2 Wonderswan, FF4 Wonderswan, FF1+2, FFEZ, FF2 FOMA, 1-2 PSX, 4-6 PSX, FF7: BC/CC/DC, and of course this is by no means an exhaustive list of obscure titles and only includes titles with "Final Fantasy" in the name. In other words, I am again challenging your claim.
Here we go again. Please, everyone, let's maintain civility this time...

I do that in my run too. Bisqwit probably knows the exact workings of it, but you can do it by either landing in the pit from a certain height or fall into the pit after getting hit by an enemy. Then in the next screen, hold left to exit to the right. I just raised the bar to 25:15. Going for sub 25 in a bit.

Was that done on a real NES, Sleepz? If so, you could probably submit it to SDA even if you used glitches. They sometimes make separate categories for glitch runs, like SM64 for example.

The pause trick was deemed acceptable for SDA hosted runs of Mega Man.

On TG.. is the only restriction the Pause/slect trick when shooting? or is ALL the glitches restricted. like, no pause tricks to avoid the "Im hurt" act, and stuff like that.

From memory: You cannot touch the select button ever under TG ruling. And even if it's not written out I'd be surprised if they accepted a run with any magnetbeam/going into walls tricks. Like I expected, Sleepz came in here and beat us all.

The only game I'm good at is Megaman 2. I got 33:20 once, but I'd like to get sub-32 someday. I suck hard at Rockman 1, however.

Yeah, being good at nonexistant games is quite difficult.

Ok thats just cruel... But once again, im going to try and set the record when i return from school. since the best thing to do is to study morimoto's movie, and try to forget about bisqwit's, since its almost impossible to do what he does with no rerecords.

Even the route of Morimoto's movie was affected by the fact that he wanted to use magnet beams - not for glitching, but to speed up climbing and such. Unless you master the regular usage of magnet beams, you have to plan your own route.

The Magnet Beam isn't all that difficult to use--though you HAVE to be ready to fail at least a couple of climbs with it. Basically, it's a matter of pressing fire and jump, and releasing the fire button shortly after pressing it. Don't try to calculate them, just see if you can make a Magnet Beam at one certain height and then practice that. It shouldn't be more difficult than learning how to do a grenade jump in first-person shooters. Tip: continuously play Ice Man's level, since there's a lot of room to practice it there. EDIT: I'd like to add that I believe Morimoto's route, with his use of the Magnet Beam, is the highest tier run that can be performed by a human.

24:45. Still plenty of room for improvement, but I think I'll stop there for now. http://members.shaw.ca/richu/rockmanSR.zip

For me, Fireman and Elecman are the easiest levels to make a fatal mistake in. For Elecman, you need Gutsman first. Fighting Gutsman first is difficult since the room is not level and he bounces you around a lot, so Fireman first. Also, his weapon is very useful when running through lots of enemies.

So in your opinion, the route you chose wasn't the highest tier run? I think the run is very impressive, by the way. Good job. :)

Overall impression: Incredible! You are very good. A little comment: You apparently tried to manipulate luck in Gutsman level (at the giant jumping junk), but it doesn't really work that way :) A little comment 2: You too, forgot something important...

It's good for a speed run. You might want to change it up if you can pull off all those magnet beam moves.

Yes. I forgot it can be done there too. Thanks.
