Ah nuts, now I can't delete my post. Half of these avatars were drawn by the artist Larvitar, she was going to draw 37 of them but time management issues just caused us to give up. I recommend commissioning her, she's a really nice person. The rest of the images came from other artists (I coloured 0 and 1...). I'd like to get a new set of avatars at some point, using the style of 0. On a related note, you can thank Flacko for almost every single one of my logos featuring the Flurret character. She's a real great reason for the characters success and a brilliant artist. If you have 6 euro's or equal to in alternative currency, please commission her for a logo image. :D

PyramidHead from Silent Hill the movie.

Many, many years ago (argh, too many, I feel old) I made this picture just for fun: I photographed myself with that lighting (the contrast further increased in postprocess) explicitly for this. Matching facial features with the endoskeleton required repositioning a few things in the metallic skull slightly. Since I'm not very imaginative, I used it as my avatar. All my other mood avatars are just different Terminators.

Both my nickname and avatar is derived from the first 2 Underworld movies...they are among my favorite movies. Lycan-Vampire-Hybrid was too long, so I shortened it to Warepire. My avatar is a screenshot from the movie of Marcus Corvinus after he is turned into a Lycan-Vampire-Hybrid.

My avatar is from OpenTTD. It depicts a rather unfortunate train driver.

My avatar is a flying toaster from after dark. I chose it because it's surreal and just plain weird. Then I put a crappy christmas hat on it a year ago for festivities, and I haven't changed it since due to laziness.

My avatars are from an awesome Windows game from the 90s. I wonder if anybody here can name it?

It reminds me of a Sierra game for some reason... Probably wrong though.

Wrong indeed, not a Sierra game.

i've had so many avatars that i don't really remember. i get bored of my avatars pretty quickly. sometimes if i find a cool avatar, i save it for later use, because i wear it out and it becomes boring if i get used to it. i never find anything that i can use forever and identify with, maybe because i don't have a single personality, but i'm constantly changing. on forums where i have a fake personality, i can have a single avatar much longer... i've previously had a crysis pic, a squall avatar with a beard and mustache that i added and a suikoden rune of beginning symbol because it's cool.

isn't it already messy enough as it is :P i think a symbols should be simple (but still powerful), like the yin and yang symbol, the christian cross etc. theosophy is pretty interesting, but their symbol has too many symbols in it.
We have to accept our limits, there are infinitely many things we cannot and will never know. I feel like people who believe in religions are generally in denial about that.
but perhaps it's possible to know the absolute truth. you say it's foolish to think that we know the truth, but isn't it similarly foolish to "know" that we can never know the truth?
Or the truth is A=B*C+-D*E+-.... and science finds A=B*C because D*E is so small that it's impossible for now to measure. It means using A=B*C works, but it isn't the truth)
yeah, since science and religion/philosophy separated from each other, science has been more about creating new technology than discovering the "truth". thanks for the explanation of your avatar, i asked about it previously on some thread.

My avatar is Mario spinning in a fetus position :P I made this avatar by using Action Replay codes in DeSmuME and taking screenshots of every frame of the starman jumping animation from New Super Mario Bros. for the DS. I also use it for my deviantArt account. Other Variations: I'm still kinda new to GIF making, and I want to know how to make transparent background instead of a black background.

I cheated, but Mordor: The Depths Of Dejenol? Still working on Nach's :P My current avatar, which you can't see if you're in the future and I've changed it or it's broken, is J. R. "Bob" Dobbs, which may or may not be relevant to me. Also, isn't there already a thread like this? Come on admins merge it, merge it!

mindnomad Tip: you can dump a movie of action you need (with lossless codec) & export it into GIF via VirtualDub.

Awhile back I used to make chainmaille, and I had a project I was working on to make a chain shirt with an inlaid wolf head, which is this icon. Never did finish the inlay, unfortunately...would've been a nice shirt if I had.

I don't know what you are thinking of my avatar... but mine is the "hardest man on world", drawn by me a year ago I might need to reupload the old one, it's just too brutal. New one is Spikeystuffy. It was from a video of her fighting a purple blanket.

Alden that's also what I got when I cheated, but since I cheated I didn't post it. mindnomad I don't know if this http://www.abdn.ac.uk/tools/ibmpc/giftrans/index.hti works with animated .gif, but I've used it in the past for single frame .gifs. There are some links at the bottom that might be helpful, too. geocities died (right?) and that's where my avatar was hosted so I no longer have an avatar here.

Jimsfriend your avatar was wicked cool. Also I guess you and me got different ideas about profiting from cheating. Mine are better. IMO.

inb4alden lol! I used google image reverse lookup on avatar2.jpg and scrolled through the results. I picked one that led me here and scrolled down to the post where that guy has the avatar. How super convenient, his sig matches your avatar5.jpg! Click the sig and it brings you here. Would be interesting to know if alden cheated the same way and same image etc.
