In an effort to increase security we've hooked up the site to a db of known "spam" proxies. This new functionality should prevent use of most proxy servers. I don't expect that normal users should be interfered with by this new feature, but should you have an interruption of service due to this change, feel free to post or contact me.

So as you might've noticed the site was down for the past day. These new anti-spam measures basically locked up the site, and technically ended up rejecting everyone as a spammer. I rewrote the core of the anti-spam code to not be so flaky and prevent these kinds of problems in the future. Sorry about the downtime.

Is it these features that keep making the site go down for about an hour about three times a week? Or is it too much traffic to the site?

I don't know what exactly makes the site go down, but it seems to be associated with the database starting to read the disk like mad due to some reason (I haven't been able to figure that out (yet)).
