Post subject: PROBLEM WITH SAVE\LOAD STATE

I am using FCEUX version 2.1.5 and I cannot save or load any games. When I press f7 or f5 I get an error message at the bottom of the screen. When I try to manually save from the file menu, it will create a file but it cannot be loaded (or even recognized) Can someone please tell me the problem here? How do I fix this? Please be as detailed as possible. Thanks!

It would help us greatly if you quoted the error message to us so that we know a bit more of what could be failing.

Actually, I think I figured it out. I needed to be pressing "I" and "P" instead of f7 and f5 when i pressed those it would just say "state 7 (or 5) load error

Some hotkeys are bound to load and save a specific slot, while you have the hotkey to load or save the currently selected slot. They are two methods and the community is divided, some prefer a method, some prefer the other.

If you go to config -> Map hotkeys, you can set it up any way you like including the old fceu mappings of f5 & f7
