About The Game

Castlevania - Order of Ecclesia is the Castlevania series of the third work of Nintendo DS. In the front, unlike two works, the map is stage form. If each stage is not cleared, the next stage will appear. Although the character which can be chosen first is only "Shanoa", "Albus" can be chosen once it clears.

About This Run

This TAS aims at the fastest clearance by Albus which can be chosen once it clears by Shanoa. The features of Albus are that it can leap to the place which pushed the touch pen, and the invincibility in Backdash. This "a touch pen warp" and "Backdash" are used for movement. If a touch pen warp is used, it will consume MP 30 times. MP takes the time of 60 frames to resume recovery, once it consumes in a form of some kind, although it recovers one time to one frame. It is necessary to use this touch pen warp and backdash properly well.

Savedata

This TAS is using Savedata. I was allowed to use dsv which dsm of Shanoa TAS testrun which gocha created creates as this Savedata. I am thankful to gocha who permitted dsm use.

klmz: Claimed for judging. Is there an explanation on the different sram included in this submission file from that produced with the quoted [dead link removed]?
mtbRc: This save data copies the player data 1 of the save data which Shanoa TAS Test Run which gocha created creates to 2, and deletes the data of 1.
klmz: Okay. Although the sram that I created following your instructions had a few different bytes, it was verified to play this movie in sync (by replacing the original sram included in the movie). So I think that we can assume that the different bytes do not matter much according to the my test.
klmz: Good quality and feedfacks. Accepted as a concept demo with justified sram usage.

"YOU CAN'T HIT ME" I'd say that just about covers it. Yes vote indeed.

This was really awesome and quick. Please make a Shanoa run next! Quite obviously, this going to be a yes vote, because I really think Order of Ecclesia didn't have a run on this site for far too long.

Having watched this run yesterday on Nicovideo (because someone on some IRC network linked to it), I have to say this run is well made. Yes vote.

Yes, indeed. At least it's not like "Jonasan! Sharotto! Jonasan! Sharotto!" repeated over and over again.

"YOU CAN'T HIT ME" reminds me of MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This". Given the moves that Albus has, that song is probably appropriate. Anyway, nice job! It's good to see a variety of moves used in boss battles. The fights are long enough that we can see the bosses's actions, yet they're still very fast-paced. Yes vote. EDIT: By the way, you credit "Mr. Gocha". I thought Gocha is female?
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

That was chaotic to say the least, excellent job. Yes vote. I especially liked when you walked through a giant axe.

It's a tiny bit sad that the first run wasn't a Shanoa run, as Albus's rapid teleportation and backdash skipping large portions of the run kind of feel like he needs the slower-paced, more complete, Shanoa run to be compared against. But that is not to say this run is bad. In fact, quite the opposite; I found it highly entertaining on how quickly you blazed through the areas (a feat that became more rapid as you collected MP Ups to fuel the teleportation). Even the Giant Enemy Crab boss, whose very nature forces him to be a slow TAS fight, was kept interesting. One way or another, this gets an easy Yes. I just hope that some day this run can be paired with a Shanoa run with this level of mastery.
First a movie gets submitted, and ends up accepted despite breaking rules other runs have been rejected for. And when I vote less than spectacularly on this movie, I become the victim of harassment and threats. Yay, favoritism.

I think we can file that under "bad English skills". It is obvious that he isn't very good at English. But he seems to be good at TASing and that is what matters. And for once I didn't have to ask for the verification movie.

This was a thing of beauty. Especially liked Epic Crab Battle and laughing with Drac. Very easy to cast a vote on. おもしろさも技巧も十分あり、TASにふさわしい作品です。 なぜ今までシャノアver.のTASがないかと思ったら、アルバスモードのほうがずっとおもしろいからかな。 それなのにシャノアバージョンも見たいな・・・ Great job!

Male, female, what's the difference anyway? I like how there's not a single second in this run that could be replicated by a human player (except cutscenes). Albus's crazy invincible jiggle-slide is also one of the strangest ways for a character to move... whatever gets the job done, I guess. Especially when he can jiggle-slide over spikes and even the occasional crab. I support a Shanoa run in the future, though. As cool as this run was, it was kind of predictable. I feel like Shanoa would show more variety and more interesting route-planning.

Alternate title - You Can't Hit Me: The Movie: The Game Yes vote here. Always amusing to see TASes of broken characters taken to its logical conclusion. Sad there wasn't more of "A PICKLE SHOT", but speed concerns trump bad voice acting.

I am not so knowledgeable on this game but I have played it and this TAS was definately entertaining and awesome to watch. I vote yes, and hope to see a Shanoa TAS sometime as well.

I liked this run better than the Albus testrun posted in the forums.

Wow, this run was very entertaining! Somehow Albus's insane movements were even funnier because they kept being interrupted by the dramatic dripping-blood place names. And of course the constant "You can't hit me!". Probably the only thing I didn't enjoy was that I felt quite bad for the Crab boss by the end of his fight. *laughs* Definite yes vote. Thank you for uploading to NicoNico.

Also, those aren't ads, those are comments. Anyway, very nice run mtbRc. It was clearly of high quality and very entertaining. Yes vote. Could you do a Julius (Dawn of Sorrow) or Richter (Portrait of Ruin) TAS? I'd love to see a TAS of either of those.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

I actually thought they were ads at first too, but then noticed that some of the English words corresponded to the speech in the game, and there was also a mention of "IGA", the main creative behind the game, and the Casltevania franchise nowadays. Anyways, it was a terrific run. Easy yes vote.
