I'm gonna take a stab at it, however long THAT lasts. I'd like getting some recommendations on stuff, but I'm sure very few people have actually PLAYED this one. Seems to me that that idiot Sasuke would be the best choice for fights. One Chidori = Good damage. Also, which scrolls should I collect and on whom should I use them? Bosses are a given, but which scrolls are better for screen clearing and which are better suited FOR bosses?
Kakashi would obviously be a boss assist, since he just uses Lightning Edge against a single foe. I haven't tested, but I'm sure a few Chidori and Lightning Edges against Orochimaru would make the battle severely short.
Another thing I'm not quite certain about is how the chakra system works. It's obviously THERE, since you can't use jutsu after a certain amount. What isn't clear is how many uses of each special attack do you get per stage?
You know, if he wasn't an unlockable after beating the game, I'd do a solo Rock Lee time attack. One of his jutsu is him taking his training weights off, making him MUCH faster. Obviously, this would be useful pretty much -everywhere-...
Bleh. The cool characters are always the unlockables. :/
[Edit: Okay, through with the Lee fight. From recording start to a second or so after the battle, 51 seconds. What I did is:
1 punch leading into Kuchiyose no Jutsu.
While Lee's still down from Gamabunta being summoned, I run and grab the Dog Scroll, jerking the controls back to the left as I fall and summoning Kiba the moment I touch ground again.
Kiba and Akamaru kick Lee into the air, and I uppercut him FOUR times before he lands. That's some tough crap to do. You have to punch just right to get all those hits in and NOT pull the Oiroke no Jutsu off. >< Did THAT a few times.
After that, three uppercuts in a row followed by a single normal punch.
5-hit combo beginning with yet another upper.
I run over and, as Lee blocked EVERYTHING I tried to do, wailed on him until the combo got through. So it ended up being like...3, 4 hits there.
By now he's trapped in the corner. One punching combo and a single uppercut finish him off.
If anyone has a better idea or feels like beating 51 seconds, feel free. I won't do more until tomorrow sometime. Kinda feeling nauseous right now. :x]
[Edit 2: What am I? Retarded? Don't answer that. Anyway, I'll restart tomorrow and use all three characters' level 3 jutsu before getting and using Kiba's assist. I dunno why I didn't the first time through. ><
For the test run of stage 1, the final time was 4:05, which is abyssmal, considering. Orochimaru got hit with the Chidori and inner Sakura's 20 hits of death, but Gamabunta was freakin' blocked and I didn't notice until playback. Ah well. At least I've got his patterns down. He's...painfully simple to avoid now that I've got it worked out. ><;]
