Well a way to help start on any% would be either finding or making a video of the sword going down zora's river. I heard it was made but various attempts to find on youtube turned fruitless and the the person I heard it from hasn't posted it so, perhaps it's a myth. This video would be very nice to figure which route is faster.
It only exists as a m64.

here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86GDhxOzHDI didn't try hard to optimize it. I'm pretty sure at least 30 frames could be saved.

Bloobiela OOT Any% TAS (No Cutscenes) 1:04:33 cut down to 22:35 :) I'm surprised OOT is more cutscene heavy than MM. Edit: Fixed the link.

This link should work: http://www.wupload.com/file/2655945627/BloobielaOOTAny%20TASNoCutscenes.wmv It looks like WUpload (or somethng with your browser) read the filename wrong when you uploaded it. You named it "BloobielaOOTAny%TASNoCutscenes.wmv". When you uploaded it, it seems to have read the percentage as the beginning of the command for a space in URL schema (%20). In the future, to avoid this, just use alphanumerics.

The aqua slide after KV takes about 8s and running back the other way takes about 10+3 for the bridge, so 5s saved there. There's only 3 places where cuccos are hit and two of them are right after they were thrown. So one would be picking it up and throwing it instead of hitting it, the other 2 would be walking forward a little more before throwing. So that'd be about 3s difference if a thrown cucco would work same as a hit one. In this RTS, he goes down ZR with no boosts in 35s, make that a TAS and it'd be about 32s, In the TAS mrgrunz just posted it takes about 27.5 with the sword boosts. So that's 4.5s saved. So skipping sword initially saves 25s, then costs 4.5s going down ZR, then 3s collecting cuccos, then 8s KF slide. So sword skip saves about 25-(4.5+3+5)= 12.5s. This is not exact but unless there's something big that's not being taking into account it certainly seems skipping the sword is faster.

We are doing a task of the TAS competition again: http://forums.zeldaspeedruns.com/index.php?topic=995.0 Swordless Link and some other people are definitely going to join, would be cool to see some other people trying this as well. this is just for fun, no need to be a pro at TASing the game at all. everybody is welcome to take part ;)

I'll confirm that the new TAS has been finished for a few days now. I've only given the m64 to a handful of people (mostly close friends and some of the hardcore Zelda speedrunners) and am waiting for the encode of it to be done before I submit it here.
It's been 2 weeks, is the encoding really taking that long?

Yes. Aktan was busy encoding the Kirby64 TAS. He has been working on this OoT encode for a few days now. It will also take quite a bit of time to transfer the YT encode to Swordless so he can upload it on his channel. Just be a little bit more patient. :)

Cool, anyone going to make a cut-scene free edit? I think a little bit too much stuff was edited out of the any% run, like running into and shop, getting 5r and talking to shop guy, and crawling through the tunnel. Felt a bit awkward. Also anyone have anything to say about the my Sword Skip time difference theory math?
The aqua slide after KV takes about 8s and running back the other way takes about 10+3 for the bridge, so 5s saved there. The main thing I'm worried about is the difference between cucco throwing and slashing. Unless that's way off I can't see the sword being faster.

I'll definitely make one, and I'll try to edit less if that's something people don't like. My goal was to show gameplay with as little disruption as possible, to be honest even I thought of editing out the parts where a bug was released and re-caught since that's long and repetitive. But if you find that level of editing awkward I'll stick to removing cutscenes and door transitions only.

Encode is done, being send to Swordless slowly. Should be another 5-6 days then he has to upload it.

I don't seeing the Deku Tree cutscene skip as a viable option, considering you have to have bombs and a bottle, which means Link would have already left the forest in the first place and got to Dodongo Caverns. Unless we can use Chus instead or do bottle adventure, but if we did BA/RBA we would have to collect a bottle, which means we left the forest already as well. But some of the others look promising. Warping to Forest Temple from Fire Temple...interesting

Considering a MST run does Deku Tree much after leaving the forest, it's at least useful to skip the cutscene.
