Perhaps the dash was removed, the "a" was accidentally capitalized, or Martinet just didn't know what they were looking for, and read it not as a schwa, but as the letter "A". Really? I always thought that was just Mario's (not the writers') limited understanding of English. I believe it was completely intentional.

I've always heard "So long Dear Bowser". But that doesn't really make sense I guess.
Even the best player is limited by the speed of his fingers, or his mind's ability to control them. But what happens when speed is not a factor, when theory becomes reality?

I will go with anything that doesn't actually end in Bowser. The last syllable definitely doesn't sound like "ser". Sounds more like "tin" or "tee" or something.
I like to think it's "so long big baldy". Gay connotations welcome.
To me, it sounds like "so long, big (something)", too.

It might be Bow-ze-ru (ze-lu) with a slightly Japanese accent? I don't think I'm hearing an "ee"/"i", it's just a high pitched "e" with a yodeling quality to me.

I like the sound of the line anyway, at least the "so long" part. It sounds better than "buh-bye" (Japanese version and 64 DS) at any rate.
