Hi everyone! As you may know there is two french guys doing a webcast called 88 miles per hour dedicated too the TAS. You may even have watch some thanks to Rayas and his great subtitles. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10868 I'm currently working (like all the time actually) on the ways to improve our show, and recently I had an idea and it will involve YOU! The TAsers! You magical human being making this magnificent runs. As you know some people don't believe TAS are made by human but more by a robot or something miraculous coming from the basement of internet itself. Anyhow I'd like to fight this idea by showing the people behind the scene. By showing the creators of theirs entertainment. In 88mph we're talking a lot about the community and how important it is. We're giving the names of the TASers but you still somehow just a ghost in the shell of internet. What I would like from you is simple. When we're preparing on a run, it would be great to have a small introduction from the TASer and in video. It can be something like 2 minutes, where you're explaining: why you choose this game, what was hard, funny or different than you expect or whatever you want to say about your run. See it as a short "TAS submission" but in video. Then with Rayas we'll subtitle it and put it inside the episode about your run. Technically it doesn't need to be perfect, a webcam will do the job. If I could I'll take my camera and travel all over the world to meet you in person and make a proper interview, but we're not there yet. We're planning quite ahead the episodes and you'll be warn a few week before we actually need the video. You should have plenty of time to make it. (At least 3 weeks) This is only an idea, and of course if you don't want to do it, we will understand. If you want to but not show you pretty face, you can still use an avatar (a pedobear or whatever) and just talk over it. I hope some of you will participate and help us make 88mph better. Thanks! Keep up with the good work and see you soon! RealMyop

Can I rant on about how terrible encoding is?

The main issue youll have with this is language, if the runner is speaking english, youll have to sub it, so overall, I think another solution would be to do that by text instead video, for the same result. (aka the real submission text... or any pm) I know that doesnt address your issue/idea, since you was whilling to make the audiance understand actually there is real people behind the scene and not just bots. Yet theres is a flawed concept here, if it is bots that are beating the game(s), they cant generate themselves spontanously over the internet, someone must have wrote those bots programs, wich is pretty much the same in the end. Anyway, im not so sure the audio proof is the real ultimate solution to this, since you guys are 2 presenting the show, maybe one of you could impersonate the runner (just to do the voice acting), that way you would have a guaranted interview for each review.

Regardless, such a video would be good for the community, show a "real" person and their personality. Given arukado speaks french and is an experienced TASer, maybe he is the logical choice? ^_^
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

Like I said, It's too put a face on the maker on the run. So if we present a run of aruKado again, it would be nice that he introduce it for us. If it's a run from a english speaker or even japanese or spanish, we can easily subtitle it. We can do a test, the next TAS is Sonic CD by Nitsuja. I hope he is reading this thread and will want to try ^^ I'll PM him anyway.

Well.. I guess I could do something about Super Mario 64 in French, since it's my main language. I could explain why I'm TASing this specific game and how I learned about TASvideos.

We made already 2 episodes about SM64, but who knows we may do even another one :-p If you want to give an example please do so. I hope I've been clear by the way, your video would be made to be included inside an episode of 88mph. It doesn't need to be a kind of standlalone thing.

I'd like to take part in this (I speak fluent French and have a great accent ;D). I don't know though if you'd do one of my runs as your next 88MPH video (Bomberman 64, Chameleon Twist 1 & 2, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2, Kirby 64 "all shards" or SM64 "70 stars BLJless"). Let me know what you think.
