yeah i don't have anything again or in favor of the pony show and i'm glad Warp,Kuwaga,Ferret Warlord(who doesnt watch the show but is part of the community) and Dragonfangs actually answered my questions, that was more like what i wanted to read. i watched digimon myself last year for it's nostalgic feeling and actually impressive fastpaced story(at least compared to that lame dragon ball shit),even though im not exactly the biggest anime fan(or fan of tv shows in general),so i wouldn't be surprised if nostalgia somehow managed to get some college grads hooked up on a new cartoon that recreated the warm fuzzy feelings that care bears(for a"let's love and save teh world") or pokemon(for it's community) had.I mean pokemon cartoon was a piece of shit and i watched it because "everybody" watched it(ponies could be watched by a whole internet community and exert its pressure on members) too.I remember being actually bored watching it sometimes but still being hooked up to the TV anyways. the fact that i got some people easily offended for questioning the show's credibilty is another sign of the necessity of being part of this show's community more than the show itself(THE MOB IS GOEING WILD HURRRDUURRR). well,i had enough fun on this thread,i hope u question urselves about how good the show is,if you are an approval seeker(maybe not for society as a whole but to ur community), and keep having fun with it.
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

No, you offended people because you used offensive adjectives such as "retarded" and "stupid", which was totally uncalled for. Do you honestly think you wouldn't get a defensive attitude when you call someone's hobby by those derogatory names?

To be fair, I strongly believe that a notable part of the ones that enjoy the show do so more because of the community than not.
I personally wouldn't have given the show a chance if not for the emerging community of bronies, as a 27-year-old man without any daughters or elementary-age sisters; I also find that the insight of the more obsessive bronies has enhanced my own enjoyment of the series.

You may say i act childish, but you are the one getting worked up about the ponies cartoon. EDIT:in my personal circle,me and my friends criticize each other thoughts, opinions and ideas using both curse words and arguments and we don't get butthurt at all nor do we take it personally. The ability to extract the core of the message from other people's not-so-well-expressed-but-valid ideas is an important ability not only for your professional life but your life as a whole.

The burden of being understood properly is on the writer, not the reader. If you want people to understand what you mean, it's your responsibility to express yourself in such a way that minimizes misunderstandings. It doesn't matter if you use cursewords with a friend. The society does not work like that. If you can't comprehend that simple fact, then it's you who should revise how you should interact with others. "You should understand what I mean, not what I'm saying" just doesn't work in real life. If you express yourself poorly, people are going to understand you poorly. (Of course this is just BS. You were most probably just childishly trolling, and now you are trying to take it back without actually admitting to any wrongdoing.)

Oh. My. God. Yes. I have long held that exact same opinion and it has shaped my techniques as a teacher. Whenever I mention it to anyone, however, they're dismissive at best. My stance is that there is effectively just one way to listen, and provided your audience was attentive, if you didn't get the point across, you just need to find another way to express it. I once told my landlady that "the burden is on the communicator" and she looked at me like I had told her the Earth is flat. She assured me that there are several ways to listen (she cited eyes and ears as examples) and said it's the responsibility of the listener. She then condescendingly told me that I can lecture her on psychology when I have a degree in it (she has a degree in psychology, but I think it's just a B.S., she earned it decades ago, and her career is in tax consulting). Never mind that she disregards my advice on physics, which I do have a degree in. Just the other week, practically out of the blue, she said that "studies" have been done that show that listening is responsible for two-thirds of communication-- I'm convinced she brought it up just to pour salt in the wound. Did I mention she also subscribes to homeopathic medicine and quantum mysticism? She's ultimately pretty nice, but on even the most mildly academic matters, she's a terrible person to be around. Sorry for the off-topic rant, but I cannot express how excited I am that someone shares my views.

I agree with the idea that the burden is on the writer,i'm not gonna try to hold you responsible for not understanding the core of the message but you might want to reconsider the idea that just because something's poorly written, you cannot extract anything from it.Just because it comes with swearing, improper grammar and syntax, insults,it doesn't make it less of a valid idea.(you see it matters not if i will change your mind or not) I don't use this open and informal use of language all the time but i find it curious how few people are ready for it,people just seem to have a "Fnord" blindness("say it my way or i won't listen to you"). It's not even being unclear the problem, you can go straight to the subject and say:bitch, you better watch out for those @#$% cartoons cuz they end up endorsing retarded behavior, fantasy worlds, suck up on your need for approval- and people won't give it some thought at all.It must be the emotion the message carries along. i don't have anything else to say,so i'm done.

You might want to reconsider the idea that Warp meant what you just insinuated he did: It's not that people who write or speak poorly cannot be understood, just that they shouldn't hold the presumption that they will be.

Does anyone know if this show is coming out in Japan?

All I know is that there is a fairly small japanese fanbase, with fansubs and stuff. You can check out these articles for more info: http://everfreeradio.com/?p=2411 http://everfreeradio.com/?p=2746
Even the best player is limited by the speed of his fingers, or his mind's ability to control them. But what happens when speed is not a factor, when theory becomes reality?

So, how to best deal with inter-seasonal withdrawal symptoms?

I'd recommend checking out one of the various abridged serieses such as Friendship is Witchcraft or the Mentally Advanced series. Alternatively, if that's more your thing, there's a plethora of fanfiction to divulge in, though that's not my area of expertise.

I just follow Equestria Daily. There's A LOT of fan content still popping up all over the place. Should be enough to keep one sane at least ;).

Withdrawal symptoms? Really? What's the word on season 3 anyway?
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Yes. Symptoms include, but are not limited to: - Headaches. - Acute muscle and joint pain. - Shivers. - Hallucinations (usually related to ponies). - Paranoid delusions. - Asocial behavior. - Sleep deprivation. - Delirium tremens. Accurate depiction of early symptoms: Link to video

It is impossible to look for videos of actual real-life ponies on YouTube. I took my son to a petting zoo recently where he saw a pony. Now he's obsessed and asked for me to find videos of ponies. A quick YT search of the phrase "ponies" brings up what I should have expected. Typing in phrases like "real-life ponies" just brings up videos of MLP characters superimposed in real-life situations. Other similar attempts fail.

I fail to see the problem.
