This is my current project, seeing as how my Mission Impossible TAS received such an enthusiastic response. Here is a WIP of the first level. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3325/laughing_gas-PowerBlazer.fcm Comments or questions are welcome.

Not bad. Kind of ugly, the way you bump against the tanks. I guess it's desirable, or you wouldn't have. My first impression is that this game is a washed-out version of Power Blade, which has a published run... I think it predates frame-advance, so it probably needs an improved version. Maybe that's more worth your time?

No, Power blade was frame advanced.

My character jumps pathetically low, and the tank bullets have a much bigger hitbox then they look like.

So does that mean a TAS of this game is pointless?

Well, if anyone is still interested, here is a WIP of the second level. http://download.yousendit.com/D5D5668F65640B73 DeHackEd's microstorage doesn't seem to be working.

This TAS is abandoned/postponed in favor of Donkey Kong Land III.

Ok, so I've decided to work on this game. I made a sloppy run last night that completes the game in about 15:48 which is very improvable. The best route to take: (I'm using the Sector names from here: Sector 2 - To get a bomb to kill the dragon instantly, also some easy to kill enemies to power up my boomerang. Sector 3 - Another bomb. Sector 5 - Bomb. Save this one for Sector 1, boss can be destroyed quickly. Sector 4 - Boss cannot be destroyed instantly. So we fight him. There is also a bomb here. Sector 6 - Use bomb to kill boss instantly. Also get a health capsule. There isn't a bomb. Sector 1 - Kill boss with bomb. No bombs here. Final level. Final bosses are not harmed by bomb, so we fight them. This is probably the fastest route. laughing_gas seems to have started on Sector 1. I can't see his level 2 WIP sadly. I'll share a WIP later, right now, I must finish Spyman.

I was wondering when this would be TASed. It's a nice little game, though I definitely prefer Power Blade. As I recall the boss battles are exactly the same between the two games. I'm interested to see if there will be any difference in strategy.

Well, the bosses will mostly be defeated instantly with bombs, like in the Power Blade TAS. However, unlike Power Blade, we can't get bombs from enemies. So we need to pick them up in the levels. Difference in bosses? Well, the honeybee hive boss was made much larger in Power Blade, because now you can shoot up. The boss that I will fight (Frankestein) was replaced by this giant metal guy. The final boss' second form is much different. It's some bubble shooting machine.

Ok, so here is the first WIP: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1502061495/BLAZ1.fm2 It was made with TAS Editor in fceux 2.1.6. There are some subtitles to explain most things. I've started work on the next level, expect it soon, hopefully.

I haven't watched any run of Power Blade or Power Blazer so I didn't know what this game was but that was entertaining. I didn't see anything to improve from my initial look. I am sure I could find it elsewhere but what happens with the bosses to cause the insta-death?

The subs should explain it, but basically on the first frame you enter the boss fight, their RAM address hasn't been set to their HP value. By usin a bomb, you can hurt them during this time, killing them instantly.

Progress update: I made it to the Hive Boss and I don't want to do it because it's the most boring part of the run and I have to manipulate the bees to not drop shitty powerups. Wish me luck:)

I've decided that I'll finish this run up, since I'm at the final level. Expect submission in a few days.
