• Emulator used : snes9x 1.52 rr
  • I used 2 times skip stage in the game ( by collecting bones ) at stages 4 and 20
  • I don't use glitch/programing errors (one exist but i loose time using it). i manipulate a bit boss 2 to have spikes balls to kill him
  • I take damage and die two times to save time. I 'hit and jump' on enemy to take shortcuts too
  • My aim was simply to the fastest possible. ( 101% vestion or no damage vertion could be made )
Prehistorik man is a funny platform game. There is 23 stages + final boss. in some stages you need to :
  • collect stuff ( diamonds for stage 3 and 12 and tabs on stage 16 )
  • ride some 'transports' ( plane on stage 3, "boingboing?" on stage 12 and a weel on stage 17)
  • use weapons are needed to progress too ( stage 9 ).
  • Most of the stages are horizontal, but a few are vertical ( 8 and 10 ).
I made this movie in two times:
  • The first wasn't good beacause i didn't skip stage 4 ( saving around 3000 frames ) and had many desync problems on boss 1 and 2 ( stage 6 and 14 ). i stoped it on stage 14 at 4406 rerecords.
  • I decided to remade the movie on Xarthok advice from the begining to collect 100 bones for skiping stage 4, and taking the special weapon in stage 6 to kill the first boss more quikly. i copy/paste some stages from my first run with tasmovie editor and improved some others ( couple of frames ). The dificulty was mainly on bosses, they have 'random' invincibility frames, and don't do the same actions when i was recording and when i played the movie. I improve that for the 1st boss with a weapon and manipulate the second one to be sure to have spikes balls ( 3 damages instead of 2 ) and no desync problems. An other problem was to know when i had to save my 3 lifes for taking damages on the way to save time ( death abusing/taking shortcuts). In an other hand, i tried to make some funny/impressive things ( by jumping on enemy, running or jumping on plateforms i was forced to wait) but this game is not the best for that...
  • I made this TAS for myself like a challenge, knowing nothing on tasing before, and because it has never been tased before. It's a pretty hard game played normally ( less than a super ghouls n gost but more than a mario ) and i'm proud to kill this final boss in something like 20 minutes !
  • Special thank to Xarthok and his speedrun of the game [dead link removed] for helping me and partyboy1a for technical advices at the beginning.

Guga: This branches are not necessary. Removing...

Dooty: All this quality in a first submission is something we don't see so often. Accepted.
feos: Embedded HD encode.

The game looks and sounds divine (just like SNES Lethal Weapon), and vary tasable. The run is okay too. Only one question: how much far right you need to go to end the lianas level? You seem to fall down from the last jump rather late. From here it looks like it would be faster to land sooner and just run the rest distance. Happens around 3:30 and 3:50.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

This run doesn't seem to be THAT optimized. But was very entertainning. I will give you a weak yes.

There is probably plenty of room for tiny improvements throughout but this is nevertheless a great first TAS and a yes vote.

Despite the possibility to save a few frames I really enjoyed this TAS and it's a great first job. Yes vote.

It looks great. I've only played the PC version which is extremely different, I think I'll have to play this one too.

I found your run very professional, minor flaws here and there but nothing that detracts from the enjoyment of your run, and I agree with the other members; it must be accepted!
I am old enough to know better, but not enough to do it.

As no one inducated he's encoding it, I'll make an HD encode now.
