I do believe that myself and others have established the fact that a 'time attack' does not necessarily mean the same thing as a 'tool-assisted speed run.' If anything, they should be referred to as 'tool-assisted time attacks' as well...

Eh? the speed should not be terrible. I have 0,5 adsl and not ISDN like it says on DC++. And my name was (is still) "urk_77" ..... just take search and write Timeattack, my file should pop up then. :) The speed must been just temporary. Btw, you are from K-D, then you should know where Deje is? :) Thats my place.

Okey... I saw you on DC++ again but I was not there so I couldn't answer you... sorry. :{ But I think now what the problem is of the speed. You allways have tried the "Snigel" hubben, right? And I havn't use my computer for other uploads etc.???! Try the "HgMz.no-ip.com" insteed. I think the bad speed was caused by the snigel hub. :) I am 19 years old... how old are youu? No more school for me!! Well, you can also try this now....AND THATS GO ALL OF YOU HERE ON THE FORUM. Now there is a easy way to download my file. I have now upload my avi movie to a website (freewebs.com) so you can download direct from there. But it is only one thing you haft to do to work this out.: Download these 2 "Split" files: http://webzoom.freewebs.com/teioch/SMB3%20Snes-Timeattack%20TeiOch.avi.001 & http://webzoom.freewebs.com/teioch/SMB3%20Snes-Timeattack%20TeiOch.avi.002 ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you have the 2 Split files, it seems like freewebs.com did change the format from 001/002 - to - *.avi !!!? Why? I dont know....hmmm, but it is reallllly simple to change it back. Download these files, and then make sure that insteed of "SMB.........TeiOch.avi.avi" it is "SMB........TeiOch.avi.001" & "S...Och.avi.002". 001 is the 39 mb file and 002 is the 21.4 mb file. Join with HjSplit... After that you WILL have a playable AVI file. Enjoy!! ;) ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then download this program, because you haft to "JOIN" the 001 and 002 file into the right format = *.avi. Thats all! You should now be able to watch my timeattack movie now. As I said, plesase let me also know what you think of the movie.: http://freebyte.swmirror.com/hjsplit.zip ------->/*TeiOch*

Not bad. Just a few comments. - Couldn't you have redone the hit-the-wall-and-stop parts to, well, not hit the wall and stop? - I like how, in 8-2, you shoot a fireball and 5 seconds later it hits the single Goomba. - I think Bowser can be killed faster by jumping on him while hitting him with fireballs. I like it. Are there any major differences between the SMAS and NES versions of this game that would affect how fast it can be time attacked?

Yes yes... hhe I know that part kinda suck :\ I somehow don't know why I didn't redid it. And, I did know the "jumping on Bowser" stuff before I started with this movie. It was just kinda too hard to accomplish that part.........I could have done it with savestats, you know. :)

Not really, maybe just 1-3 seconds. Looking forward for more downloads and, of course, more comments! (Now I feel to continue my SMW recording .. .. .. .. .. =P)

I curently work on a special run of SMB3 I want to know if you are interrested if I do a run with full amazing tricks I don't aim for faster possible, but this movies will demonstrate many bugs I would try to skip levels that are less interresting to watch Here is my demo http://genisto.servehttp.com/smb3_amazing_demo_by_genisto.zip

Fun I have one suggestion, add a "jump and shoot" at the castle scene (with toad talking while the king is transformed in a dog), its possible to move there on the first frame.

Very entertaining! I suppose I'd like to see all levels done, just to see a demonstration of what can be done in this and this situation, and so forth. Andreas

No... full run is a full run, but a demonstration run need not to overuse the same concepts. I think there's not enough variance for a whole 8-worlds-N-levels movie. It can be stopped earlier (but still be an acceptable submission!)

I do of course know that a full run is a full run, and I never said it had to be, all I did was state my preference. It just seems to me that there is enough variety to many of the courses to introduce a lot of fun tricks and stunts. (Especially considering how much Genisto managed to do in the simpler levels.) Thanks for suggestions. Before I continue, I just want to know if you accept death like in the last castle level. If some of you know some bugs, please let's me know. For who that are not watched my demo posted on "Super Mario Bros 3 (by FODA)": https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/smb3_amazing_demo_by_genisto.zip

That's awesome! The full run I mean. I have no idea how much time the new "jumping through walls"-glitch will save but I'm sure it would look awesomely cool. Personally I'd vote for no deaths but that's because I think it would look more impressive without it even though it might save time (which I don't know). I haven't watched your WIP either (sorry) so I don't know what you mean exactly. Oh well.

In a full movie, I expect it to save up to a few minutes. But as I understand, this movie is not aiming for fastest time. Please watch this "WIP", you'll be surprised to see what it's about :)
