I really think a thread should be made on this instead of discussing this in the submissions thread. Ok.. I am going to try to do expert mode. and here is my plan. 1. Skip Intro's to levels ASAP. 2. when ever possible, fall down off a platform to a lower one for speed. 3. Go one pixel away from falling off the edge for entertainment. 4. Move quickly as possible. 5. Use Baby. 6. Take no warps. 7. Use Hardest Difficulty I cant think of anything else. start commenting here now instead of the submission.

Keep in mind that in order to play the hardest difficulty (the Master levels) you have to play through the other 3 difficulties first. All difficulties are quite short (especially if you use warps, which I'm not sure is bad because most of the warps take extreme skill to reach), so I think all 4 could fit in one movie. (Also, is there any particular reason to use Baby?)

Hmm.. IIRC, it doesn't work like the other versions of SMB. I think in this one you can just "buy" the master skill using accumulated play points. I remember doing that once, though it's been a long time since I've played this. Not that I'm arguing against all 4 in one movie, though. :)

.... You want me to finish ALL 4 in one movie? It can be done! :) Anything to please the viewers.

I'm thinking that using the baby is just like getting the suitless Samus for Metroid. (Personally I've always liked AiAi the best, but that's just me) Anyway, good luck with that movie. I spent about half an hour and over a hundred rerecords trying to perfect the menus in the game, and ended up hundreds of frames slower than nitsuja's run. I guess I'm just not experienced enough. But anyway, I'll try to look for any possible points of improvement for your run if you post them, even though my brain isn't very good at finding them.

Remember, sometimes you can start input before the menu is fully loaded. Sometimes as many as 5 or 6 frames beforehand.

Ok.. I shall try... I have no VBM uploader so.. the best i can do is just inform the Frame Count.

Am i the only one who thinsk the bonus levels should be finished, instead of falling out? The mission of a normal stage is to reach the goal. The mission of a bonus stage is to collect all bananas. Thus, imo, the player should finish the level collecting all the banans, instead of falling out. It's faster, but imo it's not really the correct way to handle the stage. The only difference is that you don't lose a life in a bonus stage if you fall out, but that doesn't change the fact that you (again imo) should finish the mission. But hey, that's just me.

Question.... Should i do both Warpful and Warpless runs of this game? so then i can get the most extreme warps in one, but show the full game in the other.

Hmm, even though i mentioned the bonus level thingy, i'd be more interested in a warped run. I'd definately download 'n watch the warpless run as well, but hey, isn't that a bit too much hassle for one person?

Not yet Mcbain. I have been overloaded with school exams, and been working on Holy Diver before that. I will have alot of free time this summer to do all the TAS's i planned on doing before.

Sorry for the n00bish question, but are there any differences between the 4 characters, or is it just a matter of preference? Btw, in case you didn't know about this site already, here are some scores for this game: http://www.klow.net/smb/rankings.php?game=smbjr

the "world champion" seen on this page, packattack, is the author of many very impressive videos. check sdkess's site ( http://www.vortiginous.com/ ), who has created a smb community. he's also a member of this forum... or was. //edit I knew I found it here : http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2181

Personally, I say no. The game is a pitiful excuse of a monkeyball game, as it's extremely slow paced and the controls are slow to respond. I suppose its because I own one of the GC versions of it that I think this way, but eh. I'd more than likely vote no or meh on a game like this if it was submitted, given how visually unappealing it can be.

Those are hardly the main issues. The game is dull, indeed, but the biggest gameplay problem is a lack of camera controls. It can be downright impossible to make a turn go exactly right in real play.

I decided to take a small break from the TAS of crash bandicoot and do something more simple. This is my test of super monkey ball jr. I'm doing only the expert levels http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1119962947/Super%20Monkey%20Ball%20Jr%20%28U%29%20%5B%21%5D.vbm I will probably re-do it.

Well, I was watching the ist of ideas l and this game is not there. But if this got present and there a good response from the audience, so, I have nothing to say. :)
